Matthew 1:20-25

Rotherham(i) 20 But, when, these things, he had pondered, lo! a messenger of the Lord, by dream, appeared to him, saying,––Joseph, son of David! do not fear to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for, that which, in her, hath been begotten, is of [the], Holy, Spirit. 21 Moreover she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus,–– for, he, will save his people from their sins. 22 But, all this, hath come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord, through the prophet, saying: 23 Lo! a Virgin, shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,––and they shall call his name Emmanuel; which is, being translated, God with us. 24 And Joseph, awaking, from his sleep, did as the messenger of the Lord directed him,––and took unto him his wife; 25 and knew her not, until she had brought forth a son,––and he called his name Jesus.
