Matthew 26:36-46

Noyes(i) 36 Then Jesus cometh with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit here, while I go yonder and pray. 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to he sorrowful and full of anguish. 38 Then he saith to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me. 39 And he came a little nearer, and fell on his face, praying and saying, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me! nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt. 40 And he cometh to the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith to Peter, Is it so that ye could not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42 Again he went away a second time, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this [cup] cannot pass away from me, but I must drink it, thy will be done! 43 And coming again he found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavy. 44 And leaving them, he went away again, and prayed the third time, saying again the same words. 45 Then he cometh to the disciples, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! Lo! the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going; lo! he is at hand that delivereth me up.
