Would to God we had been content to dwell on the other side of the Jordan! ⁸ »O Jehovah, what shall I say, when Israel turned their backs before its enemies! ⁹ »For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear about it, and will surround us and cut our name off from the earth.
