MLV⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁵ and hope does not shame one, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. ⁶ For when we were still weak, according to the proper time, Christ died on behalf of the ungodly. ⁷ For scarcely will one die on behalf of a righteous man; for perhaps someone might even dare to die on behalf of the good man. ⁸ But God is establishing his own love toward us, in that when we were still sinners, Christ died on our behalf. ⁹ Therefore much more, having been now made righteous in his blood, we will be saved from the wrath of God through him. ¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved in his life; ¹¹ and not only so, but we are also boasting in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
