John 13:5-15

MLV(i) 5 Thereafter he puts water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’feet and to wipe them with the towel in which he was girded.
6 Therefore, he comes to Simon Peter and that man says to him, Lord, why are you washing my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said to him, What I do you do not know now, but you will know after these things.
8 Peter says to him, Never wash my feet.
Jesus answered him, If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.
9 Simon Peter says to him, Lord, not only my feet, but also the hands and the head.
10 Jesus says to him, He who has been fully-washed does not need to wash himself, other than the feet, but is entirely clean and you are clean, but not all. 11 (For he knew the one who is giving him up.) Because of this, he said, You are not all clean.
12 Therefore, when he had washed their feet and had taken up his garments, having leaned-back again, he said to them, You know what I have done for you? 13 You address me as the Teacher and, Lord, and you say well; for so I am. 14 Therefore, if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I gave you an example, in order that you should also do like I have done for you.
