MLV(i)
For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot says, Because I am not the hand, I am not from the body; contrary to this, is it not from the body?
And if the ear says, Because I am not the eye, I am not from the body; contrary to this, is it not from the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where is the hearing? If the whole body were hearing, where is the sense of smell?
But now God has placed the members in the body, each one of them, just-as he willed.
Now if they were all one member, where is the body?
But now they are indeed many members, but one body.
Now the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you; or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
