Lamsa(i)
AND certain men who had come down from JudµÆa taught the brethren, Unless you be circumcised in accordance with the custom of the law you cannot be saved.
And there was great dissension and controversy between them and Paul and BarÆnabas, and it reached such a point that it was necessary for Paul and BarÆna-bas and others with them to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders concerning this question.
They were given an escort and sent on their way by the church, and they traveled through all Phoe-niÆci-a and the territory of the Sa-marÆi-tans, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.
On their arrival at Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders; and they reported everything that God had done with them.
But some of the men who had been converted from the sect of the PharÆi-sees rose up and said, You must circumcise them and command them to keep the law of Moses.
