Luke 5:2-11

Goodspeed(i) 2 and he saw two boats on the shore of the lake, for the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets. 3 And he got into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, and asked him to push out a little from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds of people from the boat. 4 When he stopped speaking, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water, and then put down your nets for a haul." 5 Simon answered, "Master, we worked all night and caught nothing, but as you tell me to do it, I will put down the nets." 6 So they did so, and inclosed such a shoal of fish that their nets began to break. 7 And they signaled to their comrades in the other boat to come and help them. And they came, and they filled both boats so full that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' feet and said, "Leave me, Master, for I am a sinful man." 9 For he and all the men with him were perfectly amazed at the haul of fish they had made, 10 and so were Zebedee's sons, James and John, who were Simon's partners. Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you are to catch men!" 11 And they brought the boats to land and left everything and followed him.
