John 1:25-34

CLV(i) 25 And they ask him and said to him, "Why, then, are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, neither Elijah, nor the Prophet? 26 John answered them, saying, "I am baptizing in water. Now in the midst of you One stood of Whom you are not aware." 27 He it is Who, coming after me, has come to be in front of me, of Whom I am not worthy that I should be loosing the thong of His sandal." 28 These things occurred in Bethany, the other side of the Jordan river, where John was, baptizing." 29 On the morrow he is observing Jesus coming toward him, and is saying, "Lo! the Lamb of God Which is taking away the sin of the world!" 30 This is He concerning Whom I said, 'After me is coming a Man Who has come to be in front of me,' for He was First, before me." 31 And I was not aware of Him. But that He may be manifested to Israel, therefore came I, baptizing in water." 32 And John testifies, saying that "I have gazed upon the spirit, descending as a dove out of heaven, and it remains on Him." 33 And I was not aware of Him, but He Who sends me to be baptizing in water, That One said to me, 'On Whomever you may be perceiving the spirit descending and remaining on Him, This is He Who is baptizing in holy spirit.'" 34 And I have seen and have testified that This One is the Son of God."
