And the people saw and roved about and stood afar. ¹⁹ They said to Moses: Speak you with us that we may hear; yet Elohim must not speak with us lest we die. ²⁰ Then Moses said to the people: Do not fear, for in order to probe you the One, Elohim has come, and in order that the fear of Him should come over your faces, that you may not sin. ²¹ Then the people stood afar, yet Moses, he came close to the murkiness where the One, Elohim was. ²² Yahweh said to Moses: Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel, You have seen that from the heavens I have spoken with you.
