And it is devouring the vast submerged chaos, and it devours the portion of Yahweh." ⁵ And I am saying, My Lord Yahweh, forbear, pray; who shall raise Jacob, for he is small? ⁶ Yahweh regrets over this. Moreover, it shall not come to be, says my Lord Yahweh." ⁷ Thus Yahweh shows me:And, behold! my Lord is stationed on a plumb-lined wall. And in His hand is a plumbline." ⁸ And Yahweh is saying to me, What are you seeing Amos? And I am saying, A plumbline. And my Lord is saying to me, Behold Me placing a plumbline within My people Israel; I will not continue to pass by them any longer."
