CLV⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴ And Jonathan speaks good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works for you [are] very good;" ⁵ yea, he puts his life in his hand, and smites the Philistine, and Yahweh works a great salvation for all Israel; you have seen, and do rejoice, and why do you sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?.
