Matthew 9:14-17 Then the disciples of John come to Him saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees often fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”

BLB⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁴ Then the disciples of John come to Him saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees often fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” ¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, “Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But days will come when the bridegroom shall have been taken away from them, and then they will fast. ¹⁶ But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on old clothing, for the filling up of it tears away from the garment, and a worse tear emerges. ¹⁷ Nor do they pour new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the wineskins are burst, and the wine is poured out, and the wineskins are destroyed. But they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
