32 Καὶ (And) ἔρχονται (they come) εἰς (to) χωρίον (a place), οὗ (of which) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name is) Γεθσημανί (Gethsemane); καὶ (and) λέγει (He says) τοῖς (to the) μαθηταῖς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him), “Καθίσατε (Sit) ὧδε (here), ἕως (while) προσεύξωμαι (I shall pray).”
33 καὶ (And) παραλαμβάνει (He takes) τὸν (-) Πέτρον (Peter) καὶ (and) τὸν (-) Ἰάκωβον (James) καὶ (and) τὸν (-) Ἰωάννην (John) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (Him); καὶ (and) ἤρξατο (He began) ἐκθαμβεῖσθαι (to be greatly awe-struck) καὶ (and) ἀδημονεῖν (deeply distressed).
34 καὶ (And) λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Περίλυπός (Very sorrowful) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) ψυχή (soul) μου (of Me), ἕως (even to) θανάτου (death); μείνατε (remain) ὧδε (here) καὶ (and) γρηγορεῖτε (watch).”
35 Καὶ (And) προελθὼν (having gone forward) μικρὸν (a little), ἔπιπτεν (He fell) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (ground) καὶ (and) προσηύχετο (was praying) ἵνα (that), εἰ (if) δυνατόν (possible) ἐστιν (it is), παρέλθῃ (might pass) ἀπ’ (from) αὐτοῦ (Him) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour).
36 καὶ (And) ἔλεγεν (He was saying), “Ἀββᾶ (Abba), ὁ (-) Πατήρ (Father), πάντα (all things are) δυνατά (possible) σοι (to You); παρένεγκε (take away) τὸ (the) ποτήριον (cup) τοῦτο (this) ἀπ’ (from) ἐμοῦ (Me); ἀλλ’ (but) οὐ (not) τί (what) ἐγὼ (I) θέλω (will), ἀλλὰ (but) τί (what) σύ (You).”
37 Καὶ (And) ἔρχεται (He comes) καὶ (and) εὑρίσκει (finds) αὐτοὺς (them) καθεύδοντας (sleeping). καὶ (And) λέγει (He says) τῷ (-) Πέτρῳ (to Peter), “Σίμων (Simon), καθεύδεις (are you asleep)? οὐκ (Not) ἴσχυσας (were you able) μίαν (one) ὥραν (hour) γρηγορῆσαι (to watch)?
38 γρηγορεῖτε (Watch) καὶ (and) προσεύχεσθε (pray), ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) ἔλθητε (you may enter) εἰς (into) πειρασμόν (temptation). τὸ (The) μὲν (indeed) πνεῦμα (spirit) πρόθυμον (is willing), ἡ (-) δὲ (but) σὰρξ (the flesh) ἀσθενής (weak).”
39 Καὶ (And) πάλιν (again) ἀπελθὼν (having gone away), προσηύξατο (He prayed), τὸν (the) αὐτὸν (same) λόγον (thing) εἰπών (having said).
