I. [נָזָה] verb spurt, spatter; Hiph`il sprinkle (Late Hebrew Hiph`il sprinkle; Aramaic נְדָא, אַדֵּי Lev 4:6 and often, for הִזָּה Syriac is erupit, stillavit Isa 63:3, alsoprominutt, etc. PS2291); —

Qal Imperfect 3 masculine singular יִזֶּה Lev 6:20 (twice in verse), וְיֵז Isa 63:3 (but read וַיֵּז Che Di Du Ges«GKC:53»§ 53, p. N., 107 bN. and others), וַיִּז 2Kgs 9:33spurt, spatter, always of blood: — וַיִּז מִדָּמָהּ אֶלֿ 2Kgs 9:33 and some of her blood spurted against the wall; so ויז נִצְחָם Isa 63:3 (with — עַלֿ of thing, in metaphor); יִזֶּה מִדָּמָה Lev 6:20, compare v.Lev 6:20 (both with עַלֿ of thing). Hiph`il Perfect 3 masculine singular וְהִזָּת consecutive Lev 4:6 + 12 t.; 2 masculine singular וְהִזֵּיתָ֫ Exod 29:21 Imperfect יַזֶּה Lev 16:14 (Isa 52:15 see below); וַיַּז Lev 8:11; Lev 8:30 Imperative הַזֵּה Num 8:7 Participle construct מַזֵּה Num 19:21cause to spurt, sprinkle upon, in ceremonials of P: with accusative + עַלֿ person Num 8:7 (water), + עַלֿ of thing, לִפְנֵי Lev 16:15 object often מִן partitive, or implied in context; followed by עַלֿ Lev 5:9; Lev 14:7; Lev 16:14; Lev 16:19 (all of blood); Lev 8:11 (oil); Num 19:18; Num 19:19 (water), Exod 29:21; Lev 8:30 (both blood and oil); followed by אֶלֿ Lev 14:51 (blood and water), אֶלנֹֿכַח פְּנֵי Num 19:4 (blood); followed byלִפְנֵי Lev 4:6; Lev 4:17; Lev 16:14 (blood), Lev 14:16; Lev 14:27 (oil); once without preposition מַזֵּה Num 19:21 the sprinkler of the water. — Isa 52:15 see II.נזה.
