אָשֵׁם adjective guilty, ׳א absolute 2Sam 14:13 plural אֲשֵׁמִים אֶלאָֿחִינוּ Gen 42:21 (E); guilty, and so bound to offer a trespass-offering Ezra 10:19 but read probably וַאֲשָׁמָם, so Kue^{Chronol. see h. Perzische Tijdvak, 1890, 43}.
