Hiph`il a. transitive give rest to; — Infinitive construct Jer 31:2 הָלוֺךְ לְהַרְגִּיעוֺ I will go to give him (Israel) rest, Jer 50:34 לְמַעַן הִרְגִּיעַ אתהֿאדץ (on ׳הִ, see Ges^{«GKC:53l»§ 53l} Dr^{Deut 7:24}; read probably ׳הַ); Isa 51:4 ומשׁפטי לאור עמים אַרְגִּיעַ usually I will cause my judgment (religion) to repose as, etc. (i.e. I will establish it; compare שִׂים Isa 42:4); but metaphor strange: hence Bachm Che Marti (joining to vIsa 42:5) צִדְקִי (< אֲקָרֵב Isa 46:13) אַרְגִּיעַ אַקְרִיב in a moment (I. רָגַע Hiph`il) will I bring near, etc., Du הִרְגִּיעַ קָרֵב, Oort Ry Kit בְּרֶנַע קָרֵב (compare ᵐ5 ἐγγίζει ταχύ).
