1. grass, as food for animals 1Kgs 18:5; Job 40:15; Ps 104:14; Ps 147:8; Prov 27:25 (|| דֶּשֶׁא and עֵשֶׂב), Isa 15:6 (|| דֶּשֶׁא and יֶרֶק); specifically of leeks (as still sometimes in Aramaic, see Löw^{pp. 226, 228}) Num 11:5 (see Di); in simile of abundant growth Isa 44:4 (see ᵐ5 Ew Che); on Isa 35:7 see I. חָצִיר above
