הֲדַדְעֶ֫זֶר proper name, masculine Hadadezer (so Aramaic Inscription הדדעזר EutSBAK 1885, 679 compare BaeRel 67; ᵐ5 throughout (erroneously) Ἀδρα(α)ζαρ; — Hadad is help(er), compare COT 1 k 1Kgs 20:1 & Phoenician אשמנעזר); king of צוֺבָה (q. v.), son of רְחֹב, defeated by David 2Sam 8:3; 2Sam 8:5; 2Sam 8:10; 2Sam 8:12 הֲדַדְעָ֑זֶר v2Sam 8:7 v2Sam 8:8 v2Sam 8:9 v2Sam 8:10 (= הֲדַרְעֶזֶר q. v. 2Sam 10:16 (twice in verse); 2Sam 10:19; 1Chr 18:3; 1Chr 18:5; 1Chr 18:7; 1Chr 18:8; 1Chr 18:10 (twice in verse); 1Chr 19:16; 1Chr 19:19, all erroneous, see inscription above, & compare Bael.c.
