1. gladden with good tidings: birth of a son Jer 20:15 victory 1Sam 31:9; 2Sam 1:20; 1Chr 10:9; Ps 68:12 היה כמבשׂר בעיניו he was in his eyes as a bearer of good tidings 2Sam 4:10.
2. bear tidings 2Sam 18:19; 2Sam 18:20 (twice in verse); 2Sam 18:26 even of evil 1Sam 4:17, and so with accusative בשׂר טוב 1Kgs 1:42.
