John 11:45-50

Anderson(i) 45 Then many of the Jews that had come to Mary, and who saw what he had done, believed on him. 46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees, and told them what Jesus had done. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called together the Sanhedrin, and said: What are we doing? For this man does many signs. 48 If we thus let him alone, all will believe on him, and the Romans will come and take away our place and our nation. 49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was chief priest that year, said to them: You know nothing, 50 nor do you consider that it is profitable for us, that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.
