¹⁴ What profit is it, my brethren, if anyone says he has faith, but has not works; can such faith save him? ¹⁵ If a brother or a sister be naked, and in want of daily food, ¹⁶ and one of you say to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," but ye give them not the things needful for the body, what does it profit? ¹⁷ Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.

¹⁶ They profess to know God; but by their works they deny Him; being abominable, and disobedient, and for every good work worthless.

²¹ "Not every one who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that does the will of My Father in Heaven. ²² Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by Thy name? and by Thy name cast out demons, and by Thy name do many mighty works,'" ²³ And then will I confess to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, ye who work iniquity.

⁴⁶ "And these shall go away into age-lasting punishment, but the righteous into age-lasting life."

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the Devil; and the desires of your father ye wish to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own; because he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁷ recompensing to no one evil for evil; providing things honorable in the sight of all men; ¹⁸ if it be possible, so far as it depends on you, being at peace with all men; ¹⁹ not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God: for it has been written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will recompense," saith the Lord. ²⁰ But, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for, in doing this, you will heap coals of fire upon his head. ²¹ Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹⁹ not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God: for it has been written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will recompense," saith the Lord.

⁴ Every one who commits sin commits lawlessness also; and sin is lawlessness.

² "I know your works and your toil, and your patience, and that you cannot bear evil men; and you tried those who call themselves apostles, and are not, and found them false;

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Ye are those who justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts; because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.

⁸ But, for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, their part shall be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death."
