²⁹ And if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for [it] is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should go away into Gehenna.

¹³ There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not leave you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

¹⁶ I will not cease to give thanks for you, making mention in my prayers; ¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, in the knowledge of him; ¹⁸ The eyes of your heart being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power towards you who believe, according to the working of his mighty power; ²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], ²¹ Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come:

²⁸ But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart,

²⁵ After that, he put hands again upon his eyes, and he began to look up: and he was restored, so as to see all things clearly,

³³ But no one when he hath lighted a candle, putteth [it] in a secret place, neither under a bushel; but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. ³⁴ The light of thy body is the eye; When thine eye is single, thy whole body also is light: but when it is evil, thy body also is dark. ³⁵ If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness? ³⁶ --

²² The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
