³⁹ And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.

²³ And he said to them all, If anyone will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. ²⁴ For whoever will save his life shall lose it: but whoever will lose his life for my sake, he shall save it.

¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? ²⁰ For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

⁵ Let this attitude be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who, though being in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped: ⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in form as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service of worship.

⁶ Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: ⁷ Casting all your anxiety upon him; for he cares for you. ⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about, seeking someone he may devour. ⁹ Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are required of your brethren who are throughout the world. ¹⁰ But the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

³⁵ And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. ³⁶ And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible for you; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what you will.

¹ I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. ² Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes it, that it may bring forth more fruit. ³ Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine; neither can you, unless you abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches: He who abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. ⁶ If a man does not abide in me, he is thrown away as a branch, and withers; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.

¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

² And do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good, and acceptable, and perfect.

⁷ Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
