²⁷ All the ends of the earth will remember and return to Jehovah. All the families from all the nations will worship you.

¹ O that you would split open the heavens and come down! The mountains would quake at your presence. ² Be like the fire that kindles brushwood and makes water boil. Come down to make your name known to your enemies. The nations may tremble in your presence. ³ When you did awe-inspiring things that we did not expect, you came down and the mountains quaked at your presence. ⁴ No one has ever heard and no one has paid attention. No one has perceived any god except you. You help those who wait for you.

³³ »Seek (desire) (require) (serve) first the kingdom of God and his righteousness [continuously] and all these things will be added to you.

¹⁹ »Repent therefore, and turn around, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times (seasons) of refreshing shall come from the presence of Jehovah. (Deuteronomy 18:18, 19) ²⁰ »He will send Jesus Christ, who preached to you. ²¹ whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things. God spoke about this through all his holy prophets since the world began.

¹⁴ For this reason it says: »Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.«

⁷ The law of Jehovah is perfect. It gives new life. The testimony of Jehovah is dependable. It makes the simple wise.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast (dependable) spirit within me.

² O Jehovah, I heard the report about you and I am afraid of your actions. O Jehovah, make it live in the midst of the years. In the midst of the years make it known! When you are angry remember mercy.

¹ When the day of Pentecost came, they were all with one accord in one place. ² Suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind. It filled the house where they were sitting. ³ Tongues of fire that sat on each of them appeared. ⁴ They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit moved them to speak. ⁵ Devout Jews from every nation under heaven were dwelling at Jerusalem. ⁶ When they heard this sound a crowd came together in confusion, because men heard them speak in their own language. ⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled. They said to each other: »Behold, are not all these that speak Galileans?« ⁸ »How do we each hear them in our own language? ⁹ »Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, ¹⁰ »Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ »Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our language the wonderful works of God.« ¹² And they were all amazed and were in doubt. They asked each other: »What does this mean?« ¹³ Others mockingly said: »These men are full of new wine.« ¹⁴ But Peter, stood up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them: »You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem let me explain this to you. Listen to my words. ¹⁵ »These men are not drunk as you suppose for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. ¹⁶ »This is what the prophet Joel spoke about: ¹⁷ »It will come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out from my Spirit upon all flesh. So he poured out what you now see and hear. ³⁴ »For David has not ascended into heaven and yet he said: ‘Jehovah said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, ³⁵ ‘»until I make your enemies your footstool.’ (Psalm 110:1) ³⁶ »Therefore let all the house of Israel know for sure that God has made that same Jesus, whom you impaled, both Lord and Christ.« (Acts 10:36) ³⁷ Now when they heard this, they were stabbed to the heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles: »Men and brothers, what shall we do?« ³⁸ Then Peter said: »Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ »The promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as Jehovah our God calls.« (Micah 4:5) (Deuteronomy 6:4) ⁴⁰ He gave a thorough witness with many words and exhorted them, saying: »Save yourselves from this indecent generation.« ⁴¹ Those who gladly received his word were baptized. About three thousand persons were added the same day. ⁴² They continued devoting themselves to doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. ⁴³ Every person experienced a sense of awe, for the apostles did many wonders and signs. ⁴⁴ All those who believed stayed together. They held all things in common. ⁴⁵ They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all men, as every man had need. ⁴⁶ They continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and singleness of heart. ⁴⁷ As they praised God, they had favor with all the people. God added to the congregation daily those being saved.

¹ Know this also that in the last days perilous (dangerous) times will come. ² For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous (lovers of money), arrogant, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful (ungrateful), unholy, ³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, despisers of those who are good, ⁴ traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; ⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying its power. Stay away from people like this!

³ For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine. Having their ears tickled, they will accumulate teachers who follow after their own lusts. ⁴ They will turn their ears away from the truth, and turn aside to myths (fiction).

¹ The hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of Jehovah and set me down in the middle of the valley. The valley was full of bones. ² He caused me to pass among them round about. There were very many on the surface of the valley and they were very dry. ³ He said to me: »Son of man, can these bones live?« I answered, »O Lord Jehovah, you know.« ⁴ »‘Again he said: »Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah. ⁵ »‘The Lord Jehovah says to these bones: »I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. ⁶ »‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive. You will know that I am Jehovah.«’« ⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded. As I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling. The bones came together, bone to its bone. ⁸ I looked, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them. But there was no breath in them. ⁹ Then Jehovah said to me: »Prophesy to the wind (ruach: air, breath, spirit, life)! Prophesy, son of man. Tell the wind, this is what the Lord Jehovah says: ‘Come from the four winds, O Breath, and breathe on these people who were killed so that they will live.«’« ¹⁰ So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath of life entered them. Then they came to life and stood on their feet. There were enough of them to form a very large army. ¹¹ Jehovah also said: »Son of man, all the people of Israel are like these bones. The people say: Our bones are dry, and our hope has vanished. We are completely destroyed. ¹² Prophesy and tell them: ‘This is what the Lord Jehovah says: »My people, I will open your graves and take you out of them. I will bring you to Israel. ¹³ Then, my people, you will know that I am Jehovah, because I will open your graves and bring you out of your graves.«’ ¹⁴ ‘I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live. I will place you in your own land. Then you will know that I, Jehovah, have spoken, and I have done it,’ declares Jehovah.«

⁸ Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (uncertain) (doubter) (skeptic).

¹⁴ »However, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, I will hear their prayer from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country.

¹⁵ The High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is holy, says: ‘I dwell in the high and holy and also with him who has a contrite and humble spirit. I revive the spirit of the humble, and the heart of the contrite ones.’

⁶ Will you not restore our lives again so that your people may find joy in you?

¹⁹ O Jehovah God, commander of armies, restore us, and cause your face to shine (smile) on us so that we may be saved.
