Genesis 1:14-19

14 Then God said: »Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. Let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years. 15 »Let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth.« It was so. 16 God made the two great lights. The sun was to govern the day. The moon was to govern the night. He made the stars also. 17 He placed the lights in the sky to shine on the earth. 18 The lights were to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

Genesis 1:1-31

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and empty. Darkness covered the deep water. The Spirit of God hovered over the waters. 3 Then God said: »Let there be light!« And there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good. God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light day. He called the darkness night. There was evening and there was morning, one day. 6 Then God said: »Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters. Let it separate the waters from the waters.« 7 God made the expanse. He separated the waters that were below the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. It was so. 8 God called the expanse heaven. There was evening and there was morning, a second day. 9 Then God said: »Let the waters below the atmosphere be gathered into one place. Let the dry land appear.« It was so. 10 God called the dry land earth. The gathering of the waters He called seas. God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said: »Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them.« It was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind. God saw that it was good. 13 There was evening and there was morning, a third day. 20 God said: »Let the waters be filled with many kinds of living beings, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.« 21 God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves in the waters after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said: »Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.« 23 There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 24 God said: »Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.« It was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds. He made the livestock according to their kinds and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said: »Let us make man in our image, in our likeness. Let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.« 27 God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him. He created male and female. 28 God blessed them and said to them: »Be fruitful and increase in number. Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and dominate the birds of the air. Have dominion over every living creature that moves on the ground.« 29 Then God said: »I give you every plant that bears seed on the face of the entire earth. I also give you every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 »Also every beast of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground; everything that has the breath of life in it, I give every green plant for food.« It was so. 31 God saw all that he had made. It was very good. There was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.

Genesis 1:2-3

Isaiah 40:22

22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

2 Corinthians 12:2

2 I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I do not know; or whether out of the body, I do not know; God knows), such a one caught up even to the third heaven.

Genesis 1:16

16 God made the two great lights. The sun was to govern the day. The moon was to govern the night. He made the stars also.

Psalms 8:3

3 When I look at your heavens, the creation of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have set in place,

Psalms 19:1-6

1 ([Psalm of David]) The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky displays what his hands have made. 2 Day to day declares speech. Night to night shows knowledge. 3 It is done without talking, without words, without their voices being heard. 4 Yet, their measuring line (rule) has gone out into the entire world, their message to the ends of the earth. He has set up a tent in the heavens for the sun. 5 It comes out of its chamber like a bridegroom. Like a champion, it is eager to run its course. 6 It rises from one end of the heavens. It circles around to the other. Nothing is hidden from its heat.

Psalms 147:4

4 He determines the number of stars. He gives each one a name.

Psalms 104:1-35

1 Bless Jehovah with all my being! O Jehovah my God, You are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty. 2 You cover yourself with light as with a cloak. You stretch out clouds in the sky like a curtain. 3 You lay the beams of your upper chambers in the waters. You make the clouds your chariot. You walk upon the wings of the wind. 4 You make the winds your messengers, the flaming fire your ministers. 5 You established the earth upon its foundations, so that it will not be unstable forever. 6 You covered it with the deep like a garment. The waters stood above the mountains. 7 They fled at your rebuke. At the sound of your thunder they hurried away. 8 The mountains rose and the valleys sank down to the place you appointed for them. 9 You set a boundary that they may not go beyond. They will not return to cover the earth. 10 You send watering springs to the valleys. They flow between the mountains. 11 They give drink to every beast of the field. The wild donkeys quench their thirst. 12 Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell. They lift up voices among the branches. 13 You water the mountains from your upper chambers. The earth is satisfied with the fruit of your works. 14 You cause the grass to grow for the cattle and vegetation for the labor of man. That he may bring forth food from the earth, 15 And wine which makes man's heart glad. That he may make his face shine with oil, and food, which sustains man's heart. 16 Jehovah’s trees drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon which he planted, 17 Where the birds build their nests, the stork, whose home is the fir tree. 18 The high mountains are for the wild goats. The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers. 19 You made the moon for the seasons. The sun knows the place of its setting. 20 You appoint darkness and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about. 21 The young lions roar after their prey and seek their food from God. 22 They withdraw at sunrise and lie down in their dens. 23 Man goes to his work and to his labor until evening. 24 O Jehovah, how many are your works! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your possessions. 25 The sea is so big and wide with many creatures, living things both large and small. 26 Ships sail on it, and Leviathan (great sea animal), which you made, plays in it. 27 All of them wait for you to give them their food at the proper time. 28 You give it to them, and they gather it up. You open your hand, and they are satisfied with many blessings. 29 You hide your face, and they are frightened. You take away their breath, and they die and return to dust. 30 You send out your Spirit, and they are created. You renew the face of the earth. 31 Let the glory of Jehovah endure forever. May Jehovah find joy in his works. 32 He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke. 33 I will sing to Jehovah throughout my life. I will make music to praise my God as long as I live. 34 May my thoughts be pleasing to him. I will find joy in Jehovah. 35 Let sinners be consumed from the world. Let the wicked no longer exist. Bless Jehovah with all my being! Praise Jehovah!

Psalms 19:1

1 ([Psalm of David]) The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky displays what his hands have made.

Revelation 8:12

12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet. A third of the sun was struck. A third of the moon, and a third of the stars were darkened. The illumination of both day and night was cut by one third.

Isaiah 40:26

26 »Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all these? The being that brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name created all these! Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

Psalms 8:3-4

3 When I look at your heavens, the creation of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have set in place, 4 what is man that you remember him or the son of man that you take care of him?
