Genesis 47:1-12

1 Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, "My father and my brothers, with their flocks, their herds, and all that they own, have come from the land of Canaan. And look, they are in the land of Goshen." 2 And from among his brothers he took five men and presented them before Pharaoh. 3 Then Pharaoh said to his brothers, "What is your occupation?" And they said to Pharaoh, "Your servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers." 4 And they said to Pharaoh, "We have come to sojourn in the land, for there is no pasture for your servantsʼ flocks. For the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. So now, please let your servants live in the land of Goshen." 5 Then Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, "Your father and your brothers have come to you, 6 and the land of Egypt is before you. Settle your father and your brothers in the best of the land. They may live in the land of Goshen. If you know any able men among them, then put them in charge of my livestock." 7 Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob, and presented him before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh. 8 And Pharaoh said to Jacob, "How many are the days of the years of your life?" 9 So Jacob said to Pharaoh, "The days of the years of my sojourning are one hundred thirty years. Few and difficult have been the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their sojourning." 10 Then Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out from Pharaohʼs presence. 11 Joseph settled his father and his brothers, and gave them property in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Raamses, as Pharaoh had commanded. 12 And Joseph provided food for his father, his brothers, and all of his fatherʼs household, according to the number of their dependents.

Mark 15:42-47

42 When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for the Kingdom of God, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Pilate was surprised that he was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long. 45 When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. 46 He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and placed him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Josi, saw where he was placed.

Genesis 39:7-12

7 And it came to pass after these things that his masterʼs wife took notice of Joseph and she said, "Sleep with me." 8 But he refused, and said to his masterʼs wife, "Look, my master does not concern himself with anything in his house, and he has put all that he has into my care. 9 There is no one greater in this household than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, since you are his wife. How then can I do such a great evil, and sin against God?" 10 And although she spoke to Joseph day after day, he did not listen to her to sleep with her or to be with her. 11 Now it happened about this time that he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside. 12 She grabbed him by his garment, saying, "Sleep with me." And he left his garment in her hand and ran outside.

Genesis 45:1-28

1 Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all those who stood before him, so he cried out, "Send everyone away from me." So no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. 2 And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard it, and the house of Pharaoh heard about it. 3 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?" But his brothers couldnʼt answer him, for they were terrified at his presence. 4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "Come near to me, please." So they moved closer. And he said, "I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. 5 Now do not be upset or angry with yourselves that you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life. 6 For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there will be five more years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest. 7 God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 8 So now, it wasnʼt you who sent me here, but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt. 9 Now hurry and go up to my father and tell him, 'This is what your son Joseph says, "God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me. Do not delay. 10 You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you, your children, and your childrenʼs children, and your flocks, and your herds, and everything that you have. 11 There I will provide for you, for there are still five years of famine to come, otherwise you and your household and all that you have would become destitute. 12 Look, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth which is speaking to you. 13 So you must tell my father about all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen. But you must hurry and bring my father down here." 14 Then he threw his arms around his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his shoulder. 15 And he kissed all his brothers and wept on them, and after that his brothers talked with him. 16 Now the report of it was heard in Pharaohʼs house, saying, "Josephʼs brothers have come." It pleased Pharaoh and his servants. 17 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Tell your brothers, 'Do this: Load your animals and go. Enter the land of Canaan. 18 Take your father and your families and come to me, and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the richness of the land.' 19 Now you are commanded, 'Do this: Take wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father and come. 20 Also, do not worry about your possessions, for the best of all of the land of Egypt is yours." 21 So the sons of Israel did that. And Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the journey. 22 He gave to all of them, to each one, a change of clothing. But to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing. 23 To his father he sent the following: ten donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and food and provision for his father on the journey. 24 So he sent his brothers off, and as they departed he said to them, "Do not be fearful on the journey." 25 So they went up out of Egypt and came into the land of Canaan to their father Jacob. 26 And they told him, saying, "Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt." But he was unmoved, because he did not believe them. 27 But when they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them, and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to transport him, the spirit of their father Jacob revived. 28 Then Israel said, "I'm convinced. My son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die."

Genesis 37:4

4 His brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, and they hated him, and couldnʼt speak a kind word to him.

Genesis 39:2-5

2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man. And he was in the household of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that God was with him, and that God made everything that he did to succeed in his hands. 4 So Joseph found favor in the sight of his master, and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. 5 And it came about that from the time that he made him overseer of his household and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptianʼs house because of Joseph; and the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.
