¹ When thou syttest at the table to eate with a lorde, order thy selfe manerly with the thinges that are set before the. ² Measure thine appetite: and if thou wilt rule thyne owne selfe, ³ be not ouer gredye of his meate, for meate begyleth and disceaueth

³ Nether do we so only: but also we reioice in tribulacion. For we know that tribulation bryngeth pacience, ⁴ pacience bringeth experience, experience bringeth hope. ⁵ And hope maketh not ashamed, for the loue of God is sheed abroade in our hertes by the holye ghost, which he is geuen vnto vs. ⁶ For when we were yet weake accordyng to the tyme: Christ died for vs whiche were vngodly.

²⁵ Euery man that proueth maysters abstaineth from all thinges. And they do it to obtaine a corruptible croune: but we to obtaine an vncorruptible croune.

¹⁶ I saye: walke in the spyryte, and fulfyl not the lustes of the fleshe.

¹⁶ Are ye not ware that ye are the temple of God, and how that the spyryte of God dwelleth in you? ¹⁷ Yf anye man defyle the temple of God him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, whyche temple ye are.

¹³ I can do al thinges thorowe the helpe of Christe whiche strengtheth me.

⁹ Do ye not remembre, howe that the vnrightuous shall not inheret the kyngdome of God? Be not deceyued. For neither fornicatours, neither worshipers of ymages, neither whormongers, neyther weaklinges, neither abusers of them selues wyth the mankynde, ¹⁰ neither theues, neythe couetous, neither dronkardes, neither cursed speakers, neither pyllars, shall inherete the kyngedome of God. ¹¹ And suche were ye verelye, but ye are washed, ye are sanctifyed, ye are iustifyed by the name of the Lorde Iesus, and by the spyryte of our God.

¹ Ye beloued, beleue not euery spirite, but proue the spirites whether they be of God, or not, for manye false prophetes are gone out into the world. ² Hereby shall ye knowe the spyryte of God. Euerye spyrite that confesseth that Iesus Christe is come in the fleshe, is of God. ³ And euerye spyryte that confesseth not that Iesu Christe is come in the fleshe, is not of God. And this is that spyrite of Antechrist, of whom ye haue hearde, how that he shoulde come, and euen nowe alreadye is he in the worlde. ⁴ Lytel chyldren, ye are of God, and haue ouercome them, for greater is he that is in you, then he that is in the world. ⁵ They are of the world, & therfore speake they of the world, and the world heareth them. ⁶ We are of God. He that knoweth God heareth vs, he that is not of God, heareth vs not. Here by knowe we the spyrite of verity, & the spirite of erroure. ⁷ Beloued, let vs loue one another, for loue commeth of god. And euery one that loueth is borne of God, & knoweth God. ⁸ He that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue. ⁹ In this appered the loue of God to vsward, because that God sent his onely begotten sonne into the world, that we myght lyue thorow him: ¹⁰ Herin is loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, & sente his sonne to make agrement for our synnes. ¹¹ Beloued yf God so loued vs we oughte also to loue one another. ¹² No man hath sene God at anyetime. Yf we loue one another, god dwelleth in vs, and his loue is perfect in vs. ¹³ Hereby knowe we that we dwel in him, and he in vs, because he hath geuen vs of his spyrite. ¹⁴ And we haue sene and do testifye, that the father sent the sonne, whyche is the sauyour of the world. ¹⁵ Whosoeuer confesseth, that Iesus is the sonne of God, in him dwelleth God and he in God. ¹⁶ And we haue knowen & beleued the loue that God hath to vs. God is loue, and he that dwelleth in loue, dwelleth in God, and god in hym. ¹⁷ Herin is the loue perfect in vs, that we shoulde haue trust in the daye of iudgement: For as he is, euen so are we in thys worlde. ¹⁸ There is no feare in loue, but perfecte loue casteth out all feare, for feare hath paynfulnes. He that feareth is not perfect in loue. ¹⁹ We loue him, for he loued vs fyrste. ²⁰ Yf a man saye, I loue God, and yet hate his brother, he is a lyar. For howe can he that loueth not his brother whom he hath sene, loue god, whom he hath not sene? ²¹ And this commaundemente haue we of him that he which loueth God, should loue his brother also.

¹ I beseche you therfore brethren, by the mercyfulnes of God, that ye make your bodyes a quicke sacrifyce holye and acceptable vnto God, which is youre reasonable seruynge of God: ² And fashyon not youre selues lyke vnto thys worlde. But be ye chaunged in youre shape, by the renuynge of youre wyttes, that ye may fele what thynge that good, that acceptable, and perfect wyll of God is.

¹⁴ but put ye on the Lorde Iesus Christ. And make not prouysyon for the fleshe, to fulfyll the lustes of it.

⁸ Be sober and watch, for your aduersary the deuyll as a roringe Lyon walketh aboute, sekinge whom he may deuour,

¹⁶ If thou findest hony, eate so much as is sufficient forth lest thou be ouerful, & perbrake it out agayne.

²² But the frute of the spiryte, is loue, ioye peace, longe sufferynge, gentylnes, goodnes, faithfulnes, ²³ mekenes, temperauncye. Against suche there is no lawe. ²⁴ They that are Christes haue crucyfyed the fleshe with the appetytes and lustes. ²⁵ If we lyue in the spyryte: let vs walke in the spyryte.

⁶ and in knowledge temperancie, and in temperauncie, pacience, in pacience, Godlynes,

¹² & teacheth vs that we shoulde denye vngodlynes & worldly lustes, and that we shoulde lyue sobre mynded ryghtuouslye and Godly in this present worlde,

²⁷ but I tame my bodye and bringe it into subieccion, leste after that I haue preached to other, I my selfe should be a cast away.

²³ mekenes, temperauncye. Against suche there is no lawe.
