¹⁹ Thou shalt not go vnto a woman to vncouer her pryuitie, as longe as she is put a parte for her vnclennesse. ²⁰ Thou shalt not lye wt thy neyghbours wyfe, to defile thy self with her. ²¹ Thou shalt not geue of the seed to offer it vnto Moloch, that thou defyle not the name of thy god, for I am the Lord. ²² Thou shalt not lye wyth makynde as wt womankynd, for that is abhominacion. ²³ Thou shalt lye wt no maner of beeste to defyle thy selfe therwith, nether shal any woman stonde before a beest to lye doune therto, for that is abhominacion.

¹⁷ There shalbe no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor whorekeper of the sonnes of Israel.

³² But who so comitteth aduoutry wyth a womanne, he is a fole, and bringeth hys lyfe to destruccyon. ³³ He getteth him selfe also shame & dishonour, such as shal neuer be put out.

¹ O my sonne, geue hede vnto my wysdome, and bow thyne eare vnto my prudence: ² that thou mayest regarde good councel, and that thy lyppes may kepe nourtoure. ³ For the lyppes of an harlot are a droppynge combe, and her throte is softer then oyle. ⁴ But at the laste she is as bytter as worme wode, and as sharpe as a two edged sweard. ⁵ Her fete go downe vnto death, and her steps pearse thorow vnto hel. ⁶ She regardeth not the path of life, so vnstedfast are her waies, that thou canst not know them. ⁷ Heare me therefore (O my sonne) and departe not from the wordes of my mouth. ⁸ Kepe thy way far from her, and come not nye the dores of her house. ⁹ That thou geue not thyne honoure vnto another, and thy yeares to the cruell. ¹⁰ That other men be not filled wt thy goods & that thy labours come not in a strang house. ¹¹ Yea that thou mourne not at the last (when thou hast spent thy body & goods) ¹² and then say: Alas why hated I nourtoure? why dyd my herte despys correction. ¹³ Wherfore was not I obedyente vnto the voyce of my teachers, & herkened not vnto them that infourmed me? ¹⁴ I am come almoste into all mysfortune, in the middest of the multytude and congregacion. ¹⁵ Drinke of the water of thine owne wel, and of the riuers that runne out of thine owne springes. ¹⁶ Let thy welles flowe out abroad, that ther may be ryuers of water in the stretes: ¹⁷ but let them be only thyne owne, and not strangers wyth the. ¹⁸ Let thy well be blessed, and be glad wyth the wyfe of thy youth. ¹⁹ Louyng is the hind, & frendly is the Roo: let her brestes alway satisfye the, and holde the euer content wyth her loue. ²⁰ My sonne, why wilt thou haue pleasure in an harlotte, and embrace the bosome of another woman? ²¹ For euery mannes waies are open in the sight of the Lorde, and he pondreth all their goynges. ²² The wyckednesses of the vngodly shal catch him selfe, and with the snares of of his owne synnes shall he be trapped. ²³ Because he wold not be refourmed he shall dye: and for his greate folyshnesse he shalbe destroyed.

²⁴ And it came to passe that after .iij. monethes, one tolde Iuda sayinge: Thamar thy daughter in lawe hath played the whoore, & wyth playinge the whoore is become greate wt chylde.

¹⁷ But the cytye shalbe excommunicate, bothe it and all that is therein, vnto the Lord: onelye Rahab the harlot shall lyue, bothe she and all that is wyth her in the house, because she hydde the messengers that we sent. ¹⁸ And in any wyse beware of the excommunicate thynges, leaste ye make your selues excommunicate. For yf you take of the excommunicate thynges, so shall you make the hoste of Israel excommunicate and shall trouble it. ¹⁹ But of the syluer, golde, vesselles of brasse, & yron shalbe holye vnto the Lorde, and shall go in to hys treasurye. ²⁰ And the people cryed, and blewe with hornes: for when the people hearde the sounde of the hornes, they showted a great showte: and the walles fell doune, and the people wente vp into the cytye, euerye man strayght before hym, ²¹ and toke the cytye. And they vtterlye destroyed al that was in the cytye, bothe man and woman, younge & olde, oxe, shepe, & Asse, wyth the edge of the swerde. ²² Then Iosua sayde vnto the two men that went to spye oute the countreye: go into the harlottes house, and bryng out thence, bothe the woman & all that pertayneth to her, as ye sware to her. ²³ And the younge men that were spyes wente in, and brought oute Rahab, and her father, and mother, and all her brethren and all that she had. And they brought oute al her housholde, and put them wythout the hoste of Israel. ²⁴ And they burnt the cytye with fyre, and al that was therein. Only the syluer, the golde, & the thynges of brasse, and yeron they put vnto the treasure of the house of the Lorde. ²⁵ And Iosua saued Rahab the harlotte, & her fathers housholde and all that pertayned vnto her, & she dwelte in Israel, euen vnto thys daye, because she hydde the messengers whiche Iosua sent to spye out Iericho.

²⁶ For this cause God gaue them vp vnto shamefull lustes. For euen theyr women dyd chandge the natural vse vnto the vnnaturall. ²⁷ And lykewyse also the men lefte the naturall vse of the woman, and brent in theyr lustes one on another. And man with man wroughte fylthynes, and receiued in them selues the reward of theyr errour, as it was accordinge. ²⁸ And as it semed not good vnto them to be a knowen of God, euen so God deliuered them vp vnto a leud minde, that they should do those thinges, whiche were not comly, ²⁹ beyng ful of al vnryghtuous doing, of fornicacion, wickednes, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuye, murther, debate, disceite, euyl condicioned, whisperers, ³⁰ backbiters, haters of God, doers of wronge, proude, bosters, bryngers vp of euyll thinges, disobedient to father and mother, ³¹ wythout vnderstandynge, couenaunt breakers, vnlouinge, truce breakers and mercyles. ³² Whyche men though they knewe the ryghtuousnes of God, howe that they which such thinges commit, are worthy of death, yet not onely do the same, but also haue pleasure in them that do them.

¹ Therfore arte thou inexcusable (O man) whosoeuer thou be that iudgest. For in that same wherin thou iudgest another, thou condemnest thy selfe. For thou that iudgeste doest euen the same selfe thynges.

¹⁹ The dedes of the flesh are manyfeste, which are these aduoutrye, fornicacyon, vncleannes, wantonnes, ²⁰ Idolatrye wytchecrafte, hatred, varyaunce, zele, wrathe stryfe, sedityon, sectes, ²¹ enuiynge, murther, drounkennes, glottonye, and suche lyke: of the whiche I tell you before, as I haue tolde you in tymes past, that they whiche commytte suche thynges shall not enheryte the kingdome of God.

⁸ But the fearful and vnbeleuing, & the abhominable, & murtherers, & whoremongers, & sorcerers, & ydolaters, & al lyars shall haue their parte in the lake which burneth wt fyre & brymstone, which is the seconde death.

²⁴ And therto there was a stues of male chyldren in the lande, and they dyd according to all the abhomynacyons of the nacions whiche the Lorde cast out before the chyldren of Israel.

²⁶ For this cause God gaue them vp vnto shamefull lustes. For euen theyr women dyd chandge the natural vse vnto the vnnaturall. ²⁷ And lykewyse also the men lefte the naturall vse of the woman, and brent in theyr lustes one on another. And man with man wroughte fylthynes, and receiued in them selues the reward of theyr errour, as it was accordinge.

⁷ euen as Sodome and Gomor, and the cytyes about them (which in lyke maner defyled them selues with fornicacyon, and folowed straunge fleshe) are sette forth for an ensample, and suffer the vengeaunce of eternal fyre.

¹⁴ but no widowe nor deuorsed nor poluted whoore. But he shall take a mayde of his owne people to wyfe,

²⁴ that they maye kepe the from the euell woman, and from the flattering tong of the harlot: ²⁵ that thou lust not after he beuty in thine herte, & lest thou be taken wt her fayre lokes. ²⁶ An harlot will make a man to begge his breade, but a maried woman wyl hunte for the precyous lyfe.

²⁷ Ye haue heard how it was sayed to them of olde time: Thou shalt not commit adultery. ²⁸ But I saye vnto you, that whosoeuer loketh on a wife, lustinge after her, hath committed adulterye with her alredy in his herte

⁹ Do ye not remembre, howe that the vnrightuous shall not inheret the kyngdome of God? Be not deceyued. For neither fornicatours, neither worshipers of ymages, neither whormongers, neyther weaklinges, neither abusers of them selues wyth the mankynde, ¹⁰ neither theues, neythe couetous, neither dronkardes, neither cursed speakers, neither pyllars, shall inherete the kyngedome of God. ¹¹ And suche were ye verelye, but ye are washed, ye are sanctifyed, ye are iustifyed by the name of the Lorde Iesus, and by the spyryte of our God.

¹⁷ There shalbe no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor whorekeper of the sonnes of Israel. ¹⁸ Thou shalt nether brynge the hyre of an whore nor the price of a dogge in to the house of the Lorde thy God, in no maner of vowe, for euen both of them are abhominacion vnto the Lord thy God.
