¹ Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, a called apostle, separated to the gospel of God, ² which He promised before through His prophets in holy Scriptures, ³ concerning His Son who came of the seed of David according to flesh, ⁴ who was marked out Son of God in power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord; ⁵ by whom we received grace and apostleship to obedience of faith among all the nations, for His name's sake, ⁶ among whom are you also, called-out ones of Jesus Christ; ⁷ to all those who are in Rome, beloved of God, called-out saints, Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of in all the world. ⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of His Son, how without ceasing I make mention of you ¹⁰ always at my prayers, beseeching if by any means now at length I shall be blessed by the will of God to come to you. ¹¹ For I long to see you, that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, for the establishing of you; ¹² and this is to be comforted together among you, through the faith in one another, both yours and mine. ¹³ But I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, that often I purposed to come to you, and was kept back until the present, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the other nations. ¹⁴ I am a debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to wise, and to foolish, ¹⁵ so as far as in me lies, I am eager to preach the gospel to you in Rome also. ¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek; ¹⁷ for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it has been written, "But the just shall live by" "faith." Hab. 2:4 ¹⁸ For God's wrath is revealed from Heaven on all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, holding the truth in unrighteousness, ¹⁹ because the thing known of God is clearly known within them, for God revealed it to them. ²⁰ for the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things made, both His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse. ²¹ Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened. ²² Professing to be wise, they became foolish ²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into a likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. ²⁴ Because of this, God gave them up to impurity in the lusts of their hearts, their bodies to be dishonored among themselves, ²⁵ who changed the truth of God into the lie, and worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ²⁶ Because of this, God gave them up to dishonorable passions, for even their females changed the natural use to that contrary to nature. ²⁷ And likewise, the males also forsaking the natural use of the female burned in their lust toward one another, males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving back within themselves the reward which was fitting for their error. ²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, ²⁹ having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, ³⁰ slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without discernment, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful, ³² who knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also applaud those practicing them .

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, having been drawn out and having been seduced by them . ¹⁵ Then being conceived, lust brings forth sin. And sin being fully formed brings forth death.

¹⁵ But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone loving a lie, and making it.

³ For this is God's will, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication, ⁴ each one of you to know to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, ⁵ not in passion of lust, even as also the nations do, not knowing God;

¹ And the two angels came into Sodom at evening. And Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom. And Lot saw, and he rose up to meet them and bowed his face to the earth. ² And he said, Behold, now, my lords, please turn into your servant's house and lodge, and wash your feet; and rise early and go to your way. And they said, No, for we will lodge in the street. ³ And he much urged them, and they turned into him and came into his house. And he made a feast for them. And he baked unleavened cakes, and they ate. ⁴ Before they had laid down, even the men of the city, the men of Sodom, circled the house; from the young to the aged, all the people from its limits. ⁵ And they called to Lot and said to him, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them. ⁶ And Lot went out to them, to the door, and he closed the door behind him. ⁷ And he said, My brothers, please do not act evilly. ⁸ Behold, now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please let me bring them out to you and do to them as you see fit; only do not do a thing to these men, because on account of this they came into the shade of my roof. ⁹ And they said, Stand back! And they said, This one came into visit, and must he always judge? Now we will do evil to you rather than to them. And they pressed on the man, upon Lot violently, and drew near to break the door. ¹⁰ But the men put out their hands and pulled Lot to them, into the house, and shut the door. ¹¹ And they struck the men at the door of the house with blindness, from the small to the great; and they struggled to find the door. ¹² And the men said to Lot, Who still is here to you? Bring out of this place your sons and your sons-in-law and your daughters, and whoever belongs to you in the city. ¹³ For we are about to destroy this place, for the cry of them is great before Jehovah, and Jehovah has sent us to destroy it. ¹⁴ And Lot went out to speak to his sons-in-law, those taking his daughters. And he said, Rise up, go out from this place, for Jehovah is about to destroy the city. And he seemed as one joking to his sons-in-law. ¹⁵ And when the dawn rose, then the angels urged Lot, saying, Rise up, take your wife and your two daughters who are found, lest you be cut off in the depravity of the city. ¹⁶ And he lingered. And the men lay hold of his hand and his wife's hand, and on the hand of his two daughters, Jehovah having mercy on him. And they caused him to go out, and they put him down outside the city. ¹⁷ And it happened as they led them outside, he said, Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay in all the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest you be swept away. ¹⁸ And Lot said to them, Oh no, Lord! ¹⁹ Behold, now, Your servant has found grace in Your sight, and You have magnified Your mercy which You have shown to me in saving my life. And I am not able to escape to the mountain lest some evil overtake me and I die. ²⁰ Behold, now, this city is near, to flee there, and it is a little one. Please let me escape there! Is it not a little thing, that my soul may live? ²¹ And He said to him, See, I have lifted up your face also as to this thing, without overthrowing the city for which you have spoken. ²² Hurry, escape there, for I am not able to do anything until you have come there. So the name of the city was called Zoar. ²³ The sun had risen on the earth, and Lot came into Zoar. ²⁴ And Jehovah rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from Jehovah out of the heavens. ²⁵ And He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all those living in the cities, and the produce of the ground. ²⁶ And his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. ²⁷ And Abraham started up early in the morning, going to the place where he had stood there before Jehovah. ²⁸ And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain. And he saw. And, behold, the smoke of the country went up like the smoke of a furnace. ²⁹ And it happened when God destroyed the cities of the plain, God remembered Abraham; and He sent Lot out from the overthrow when overturning the cities in which Lot lived. ³⁰ And Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the mount. And his two daughters were with him. For he feared to live in Zoar. And he lived in a cave, he and his two daughters. ³¹ And the first born said to the younger, Our father is old, and there is no man in the land to come in to us as is the way of all the earth. ³² Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him, that we may keep alive seed of our father. ³³ And they caused their father to drink wine that night. And the first born went in and lay with her father. And he did not know when she lay down nor when she rose up. ³⁴ And on the next day it happened, the first born said to the younger, Behold, I lay with my father last night. Let us cause him to drink wine tonight also. And you go in and lie with him, so that we may keep alive seed of our father. ³⁵ And they caused their father to drink wine that night also. And the younger rose up and lay with him. And he did not know when she lay down, nor when she rose up. ³⁶ And both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. ³⁷ And the firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; he is the father of Moab to this day. ³⁸ And the younger also bore a son and called his name Ben-ammi; he is the father of the Ammonites to this day.

²² And you shall not lie with a male as one lies with a woman; it is a perversion.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁷ as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, in like manner to these, committing fornication, and going away after other flesh, laid down an example before-times, undergoing vengeance of everlasting fire.

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry;

⁸ But for the cowardly and unbelieving, and those having become foul, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the lying ones, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

¹³ And a man who lies with a male as one lies with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing; they shall certainly be put to death; their blood shall be on them.

²⁶ Because of this, God gave them up to dishonorable passions, for even their females changed the natural use to that contrary to nature. ²⁷ And likewise, the males also forsaking the natural use of the female burned in their lust toward one another, males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving back within themselves the reward which was fitting for their error.

⁹ Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God.
