Matthew 18:21-22

21 Then Peter came up to him and* said,* "Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me and I will forgive him? Up to seven times?" 22 Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven!*

1 Corinthians 15:33

33 Do not be deceived! "Bad company corrupts good morals."*

Genesis 3:1-24

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animal* which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God indeed say, 'You shall not eat from any tree in the garden'?" 2 The woman said to the serpent, "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat, 3 but from the tree that is in the midst of the garden, God said, 'You shall not eat from it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die'." 4 But the serpent said to the woman, "You shall not surely die. 5 For God knows that on the day you both eat from it, then your eyes will be opened and you both shall be like gods,* knowing good and evil." 6 When* the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes, and the tree was desirable to make one wise, then* she took from its fruit and she ate. And she gave it also to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then* the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed together fig leaves and they made for themselves coverings. 8 Then* they heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden at the windy time of day.* And the man* and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. 9 And Yahweh God called to the man* and said to him, "Where are you?" 10 And he replied,* "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid because I am naked, so I hid myself." 11 Then he* asked,* "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree from which I forbade you to eat?"* 12 And the man* replied,* "The woman whom you gave to be with me—she gave to me from the tree and I ate." 13 Then* Yahweh God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." 14 Then* Yahweh God said to the serpent,
"Because you have done this, you will be cursed more than any domesticated animal and more than any wild animal.* On your belly you shall go and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. 15 And I will put hostility between you and between the woman, and between your offspring* and between her offspring;* he will strike you on the head, and you will strike him on the heel." 16 To the woman he said,
"I will greatly increase your pain in childbearing;* in pain you shall bear children. And to your husband shall be your desire. And he shall rule over you." 17 And to Adam* he said, "Because you listened to the voice of your wife and you ate from the tree from which I forbade you to eat,*
the ground shall be cursed on your account. In pain you shall eat from it all the days of your life. 18 And thorns and thistles shall sprout for you, and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow* you shall eat bread, until your return to the ground. For from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return." 20 And the man* named* his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all life. 21 And Yahweh God made for Adam* and for his wife garments of skin, and he clothed them. 22 And Yahweh God said, "Look—the man has become as one of us, to know good and evil. What if* he stretches out his hand and takes also from the tree of life and eats, and lives forever?" 23 And Yahweh God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So* he drove the man out, and placed cherubim east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming, turning sword* to guard the way to the tree of life.

Proverbs 14:30

30 A heart* of tranquility* is life to the flesh, but causes bones of passion to rot.

2 Corinthians 4:7

7 But we have this treasure in earthenware jars, in order that the extraordinary degree of the power may be from God and not from us.

Philippians 2:5-10

5 Think this in* yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God something to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself by* taking the form of a slave, by* becoming in the likeness of people. And being found in appearance like a man, 8 he humbled himself by* becoming obedient to the point of death, that is, death on a cross. 9 Therefore also God exalted him and graciously granted him the name above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth and of those under the earth,

Galatians 6:2

2 Carry the burdens of one another, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

John 13:34-35

34 "A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another—just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples—if you have love for one another."

Luke 6:27-36

27 "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 To the one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from the one who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic also. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and from the one who takes away your things, do not ask for them back.* 31 And just as you want people to do* to you, do the same* to them. 32 "And if you love those who love you, what kind of credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them! 33 And if* you do good to those who do good to you, what kind of credit is that to you? Even the sinners do the same! 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive back, what kind of credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so that they may get back an equal amount! 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend expecting back nothing, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful!*

James 5:16

16 Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.

2 Corinthians 6:11-13

11 We have spoken freely and openly* to you, Corinthians; our heart is open wide. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your affections. 13 Now the same way in exchange (I am speaking as to children), you open wide your hearts also.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 And he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, because the* power is perfected in weakness." Therefore rather I will boast most gladly in my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may reside in me. 10 Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

James 1:1-27

1 James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes in the dispersion. Greetings! 2 Consider it all joy, my brothers, whenever you encounter various trials, 3 because you* know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. 5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for it from God, who gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask for it in faith, without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed about. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. 9 Now let the brother of humble circumstances boast in his high position, 10 but the rich person in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a flower of the grass. 11 For the sun rises with its burning heat and dries up the grass, and its flower falls off, and the beauty of its appearance is lost. So also the rich person in his pursuits* will wither away. 12 Blessed is the person* who endures testing, because when he* is approved he will receive the crown of life that he* has promised to those who love him. 13 No one who is being tempted should say, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted* by evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each one is tempted when he* is dragged away and enticed by his own desires. 15 Then desire, after it* has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it* is brought to completion, gives birth to death. 16 Do not be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of change. 18 By his* will he gave birth to us through the message of truth, so that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. 19 Understand this, my dear brothers: every person must be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, 20 for human* anger does not accomplish the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, putting aside all moral uncleanness and wicked excess, welcome* with humility the implanted message which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the message and not hearers only,* deceiving yourselves, 23 because if anyone is a hearer of the message and not a doer, this one is like someone* staring at his own face* in a mirror, 24 for he looks at himself and goes away and immediately forgets what sort of person he was. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues to do it, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer who acts, this one will be blessed in what he does*. 26 If anyone thinks he is religious, although he* does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our* God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
