⁴ Yea, though I should walke through the valley of the shadowe of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staffe, they comfort me. ⁵ Thou doest prepare a table before me in the sight of mine aduersaries: thou doest anoynt mine head with oyle, and my cuppe runneth ouer. ⁶ Doubtlesse kindnesse and mercie shall follow me all the dayes of my life, and I shall remaine a long season in the house of the Lord.

³⁴ Take heede to your selues, lest at any time your hearts be oppressed with surfeting and drunkennesse, and cares of this life, and least that day come on you at vnwares. ³⁵ For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. ³⁶ Watche therefore, and pray continually, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these thinges that shall come to passe, and that ye may stand before the Sonne of man.

¹⁹ And this spake he signifying by what death he shoulde glorifie God. ²⁹ For those which hee knewe before, he also predestinate to bee made like to the image of his Sonne, that hee might be the first borne among many brethren.

⁸ Beware lest there be any man that spoile you through philosophie, and vaine deceit, through the traditions of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

³² But of that day and houre knoweth no man, no, not the Angels which are in heauen, neither the Sonne himselfe, but the Father. ³³ Take heede: watch, and praie: for yee knowe not when the time is. ³⁴ For the Sonne of man is as a man going into a strange countrey, and leaueth his house, and giueth authoritie to his seruaunts, and to euery man his woorke, and commandeth the porter to watch. ³⁵ Watch ye therefore, (for ye know not whe ye master of the house will come, at eue, or at midnight, at the cocke crowing, or in the dawning,) ³⁶ Least if he come suddenly, he should finde you sleeping. ³⁷ And those things that I say vnto you, I say vnto all men, Watch.

²⁸ Also we knowe that all thinges worke together for the best vnto them that loue God, euen to them that are called of his purpose.

¹⁰ What is that that hath bene? the name thereof is nowe named: and it is knowen that it is man: and he cannot striue with him that is stronger then he.

¹¹ In whom also we are chosen when we were predestinate according to ye purpose of him, which worketh all things after the counsell of his owne will,

⁴ As hee hath chosen vs in him, before the foundation of the worlde, that we should be holy, and without blame before him in loue: ⁵ Who hath predestinate vs, to be adopted through Iesus Christ in him selfe, according to the good pleasure of his will,

⁵ Before I formed thee in the wombe, I knewe thee, and before thou camest out of the wombe, I sanctified thee, and ordeined thee to be a Prophet vnto the nations.

⁹ The heart of man purposeth his way: but the Lord doeth direct his steppes.

¹⁰ For we are his workemanship created in Christ Iesus vnto good workes, which God hath ordeined, that we should walke in them.

¹¹ For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.
