⁸ And the Lord who is your leader, he himself will be with thee: he will not leave thee, nor forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

^{24 (31:25)} Do ye manfully, and let your heart be strengthened, all ye that hope in the Lord.

¹ Who a hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? ² And he shall grow up as a tender plant before him, and as a root out of a thirsty ground: there is no beauty in him, nor comeliness: and we have seen him, and there was no sightliness, that we should be desirous of him: ³ Despised, and the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with infirmity: and his look was as it were hidden and despised, whereupon we esteemed him not. ⁴ Surely he hath borne our infirmities and carried our sorrows: and we have thought him as it were a leper, and as one struck by God and afflicted. ⁵ But he was wounded for our iniquities, he was bruised for our sins: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray, every one hath turned aside into his own way: and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was offered because it was his own will, and he opened not his mouth: he shall be led as a sheep to the slaughter, and shall be dumb as a lamb before his shearer, and he shall not open his mouth. ⁸ He was taken away from distress, and from judgment: who shall declare his generation? because he is cut off out of the land of the living: for the wickedness of my people have I struck him. ⁹ And he shall give the ungodly for his burial, and the rich for his death: because he hath done no iniquity, neither was there deceit in his mouth. ¹⁰ And the Lord was pleased to bruise him in infirmity: if he shall lay down his life for sin, he shall see a longlived seed, and the will of the Lord shall be prosperous in his hand. ¹¹ Because his soul hath laboured, he shall see and be filled: by his knowledge shall this my just servant justify many, and he shall bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore will I distribute to him very many, and he shall divide the spoils of the strong, because he hath delivered his soul unto death, and was reputed with the wicked: and he hath borne the sins of many, and hath prayed for the transgressors.

¹⁰ The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they may have life and may have it more abundantly.

¹⁷ For that which is at present momentary and light of our tribulation worketh for us above measure, exceedingly an eternal weight of glory. ¹⁸ While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal: but the things which are not seen, are eternal.

¹ And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is: and is a rewarder to them that seek him.

³¹ What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing: that you may abound in hope and in the power of the Holy Ghost.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable: always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

⁷ Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil: and he will fly from you.

²⁶ Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity. For, we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himself asketh for us with unspeakable groanings,

⁷ Casting all your care upon him, for he hath care of you.

⁹ Behold I command thee, take courage, and be strong. Fear not, and be not dismayed: because the Lord thy God is with thee in all things whatsoever thou shalt go to.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress. But have confidence. I have overcome the world.

⁹ And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee: for power is made perfect in infirmity. Gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

⁵ Have confidence in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not upon thy own prudence. ⁶ In all thy ways think on him, and he will direct thy steps.

¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of affliction, to give you an end and patience.
