²⁰ And he said: What comes out of the man, is that which defiles the man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the purposes which are evil: adulteries, lewd actions, murders, ²² thefts, schemes for extortion, wicked deeds, deceit, wantonness, an evil eye, calumny, haughtiness, impiety.

⁴⁴ You are of your father, the devil; and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the be ginning, and stood not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks that which is false, he speaks from what is his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.

³¹ And as you would that men should do to you, do you also in like manner to them.

³¹ Let all bitterness and anger and wrath and clamor and impious speaking be put away from you, with all malice: ³² and be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.

⁹ Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds,

¹⁶ I say this: Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the desire of the Spirit is against flesh; and these are opposed, the one to the other, so that you can not do what you would. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are well known, and they are these lewdness, uncleanness, wantonness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strifes, jealousies, anger, party-spirit, divisions, sects, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; with respect to which, I tell you now, as I also told you in times past, that those who practice such things shall riot inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ meekness, self-control. Against such there is no law. ²⁴ Now those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. ²⁵ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. ²⁶ Let us not be vain-glorious, provoking one another, envying one another.

²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

² And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may learn what the will of God is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect.

⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that also shall he reap. ⁸ For he that sows for his flesh shall from the flesh, reap corruption; but he that sows for his spirit shall from the Spirit reap life eternal.
