⁴ But when Jesus heard this, He said, “This illness will not result in [his] death, but was intended to bring honor to God, so that the Son of God would be honored by it.”

¹¹ And God performed special miracles through the hands of Paul,

²⁰ He answered them, “[It was] because you had such little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith as [small as] a mustard tree seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to that place over there’ and it would move. And nothing will be impossible for you [to do].” {[{[Some manuscripts contain the following verse:

¹⁷ And these [miraculous] signs will attend [the conversion of] those who believe. [Note: This refers to the supernatural miracles performed by the apostles and their associates during the apostolic age. See verse 20 and Acts 2:43]. In my name [i.e., by my authority], they will drive out evil spirits; they will speak in languages [supernaturally];

¹⁶ And by [means of] the name [of Jesus], that is, by faith in the [power of His] name, this [crippled] man, whom you now see and know, was healed. Yes, it is the faith that comes through Jesus that is responsible for this man's perfect health, as you now all see.

¹² Truly, truly, I tell you, the person who believes in me will perform the deeds that I do also; and he will perform even greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father. [Note: The “greater deeds” are probably evangelizing the world].

³⁰ while you perform [miraculous] healings and signs and wonders through the name [i.e., by the authority] of your Holy Servant Jesus."

⁴⁸ So, Jesus said to him, “None of you people will believe [in me] unless you see [miraculous] signs and wonders, [will you?].”
