²⁹ but to you it was granted as a favor in behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but in His behalf to suffer also;

¹¹ "Happy are ye, when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. ¹² Rejoice, and exult; because great is your reward in Heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.

¹⁷ And Jesus, answering, said to him, "Happy are you, Simon Bar-Jonah; because flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father Who is in Heaven.

¹² But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those believing in His name; ¹³ who were born, not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

⁴⁴ No one can come to Me, unless the Father Who sent Me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁴⁵ It has been written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Every one who heard from the Father, and learned, comes to Me.

⁴¹ They, therefore, were going from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they were accounted worthy to suffer dishonor in behalf of The Name.

³⁹ and in Him every one who believes is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the Kingdom of God.

²⁷ And, having arrived, and having gathered together the assembly, they were rehearsing as many things as God did with them, and that He opened to the gentiles a door of faith.

³ And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations; knowing that tribulation works out patience;

⁸ For by grace ye have been saved through faith: and this, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God:

¹² having been buried with Him in your immersion, in which ye were also raised with Him through faith in the working of God, Who raised Him from the dead;

² Consider it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall in with manifold temptations;

¹⁷ Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with Whom there is no variableness or shadow cast by turning. ¹⁸ Having willed it, He brought us forth with a word of truth, that we might be a certain first-fruit of His creatures.

¹³ but, in so far as ye share in Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of His glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy.
