9 After this I looked, and there was a vast throng that no one could count from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 They cried out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!" 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, 12 saying, "Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!" 13 Then one of the elders addressed me: “These in white robes,” he asked, “who are they, and where have they come from?” 14 I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. 16 Never again will they hunger, never again will they thirst, never shall the sun strike them, nor any scorching heat;" 17 For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Revelation 21:10-27

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south, and three on the west. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 The angel who was talking with me had a measuring rod of gold, to measure the city, its gates and wall. 16 The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, twelve thousand stadia; its length and width and height are equal. 17 And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to man's measurement, which the angel was using. 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as clear as glass. 19 The foundations of the city walls were adorned with every kind of precious stone: The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each gate made of a single pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 22 But I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun nor the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God lighted it, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light; the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 And its gates will not be shut by day; for there will be no night there; 26 and the glory and honor of the nations shall be brought into it. 27 But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
