⁷ And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

¹⁹ For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

²⁶ And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean all of you by this service? ²⁷ That all of you shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he stroke the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

¹⁴ And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you shall say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: ¹⁵ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that opens the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

⁹ Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life: but teach them your sons, and your sons' sons; ¹⁰ Specially the day that you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

² That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

⁴ And, behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The LORD be with you. And they answered him, The LORD bless you.

¹² The LORD recompense your work, and a full reward be given you of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you are come to trust.

¹¹ And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do you worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of judgment.

⁹ I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, you know. ¹⁰ I have not hid your righteousness within my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation: I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great congregation.

⁴ We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he has done. ⁵ For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: ⁶ That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

⁴⁶ I will speak of your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

⁸ Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.

²² When you go, it shall lead you; when you sleep, it shall keep you; and when you awake, it shall talk with you.

²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for lack of wisdom.

² The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.

⁷ The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish does not so.

¹⁶ Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication (o. logos) proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

⁴ And, all of you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

⁶ Let your (o. logos) speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that all of you may know how all of you ought to answer every man.

¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason (o. logos) of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
