¹⁰ »As the rain and the snow come down from the sky, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

² »My instruction shall drop as the rain; my words shall descend like dew, as the gentle rains on the tender plant, and as the showers on vegetation.

⁴ David consulted Jehovah once again, and Jehovah said to him: »Go attack Keilah! I will give you victory over the Philistines.«

⁶ He will come down like rain on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth. ⁷ In his day the righteous will flourish. There will be abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.

⁹ You visit the earth and cause it to overflow. You greatly enrich it! The stream of God is full of water. You prepare their grain and thus you prepare the earth. ¹⁰ You water its furrows abundantly; you settle its ridges and soften it with showers. You bless its growth. ¹¹ You have crowned the year with your bounty. Your paths drip with fatness. ¹² The pastures of the wilderness drip, and the hills surround themselves with rejoicing. ¹³ The meadows are clothed with flocks and the valleys are covered with grain. They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

⁶ »It will turn into a desert, neither pruned nor cultivated. It will be covered with thorns and briars. I will command the clouds not to send rain.«

²³ Jehovah will give you rain for the seed that you plant in the ground, and the food that the ground provides will be rich and nourishing. When that day comes, your cattle will graze in large pastures.

¹¹ For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

²⁶ »‘»I will bless them and the places around my hill. I will send rain at the right time. These showers will be a blessing to them.

¹² »I said: Plow new ground for yourselves, plant righteousness, and reap the blessings that your devotion to me will produce. It is time for you to turn to me, Jehovah, and I will come and pour out righteousness on you.

⁹ As it is written: He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor. His righteousness abides forever. ¹⁰ The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. ¹¹ You will be made rich in everything. And you can be generous on every occasion. This will cause thanksgiving to God through us.

⁶ These (two witnesses) have power to shut the sky so that it will not rain in the days of their prophecy. They have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
