²⁶ Then the men tolde the king of Assyrya, sayinge: The nacyons which thou hast translated, & put in the cytyes of Samaria, knowe not the maner of the God of the lande, and therfore he hath sente lyons vpon them, whiche slaye them, because they knowe not the maner of the God of the lande.

⁹ Now therfor herken vnto theyr voyce, howbeit yet, testifye vnto them, & shew them the duty of the kyng that shal raygne ouer them.

²⁵ Then Samuel tolde the people the dutye of the kyngedome, & wrote it in a boke, and layde it vp before the Lorde, & so sente all the people awaye, euery man to hys house.

²⁷ Then the kynge of Assyrya commaunded saying: cary thyther one of the priestes which ye brought thence, & let him go, & dwell there, & teache them the fashyon howe to serue the God of the countreye.

¹⁴ yee euen they that sweare in the offence of Samaria, and saye: as trulye as thy God lyueth at Dan, and as trulye as thy God lyueth at Bersaba. These shall fall, and neuer ryse vp agayne.
