² but because there is so much immorality let each man have his own wife; and let each women have her own husband.

¹⁸ Flee from immorality. Every other sin that a man commits lies outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

⁹ If, however, they are not exercising self-control, by all means let them marry; for marriage is better than the fever of passion.

²⁸ That is how husbands ought to love their wives, as they love their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
