³⁰ And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour. And at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing.

⁴ Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel was gathered to me, because of the sin of those who had been exiled. And I remained dumb until the evening sacrifice. ⁵ And at the evening sacrifice I rose up from my affliction. And tearing my garment and my mantle, I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to Jehovah my God.

¹ And in the twenty-fourth day of this month, the sons of Israel were gathered with fasting and with sackcloth, and with earth upon them. ² And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins and the sins of their fathers. ³ And they stood up in their place, and read in the Book of the Law of Jehovah their God a fourth part of the day. And another fourth part they confessed and worshiped Jehovah their God.

²⁰ And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin, and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my cry before Jehovah my God for the holy mountain of my God; ²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, touched me in my severe exhaustion, about the time of the evening sacrifice.

³ His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

⁶ And he said to them, Do not be frightened. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen, He is not here. Behold the place where they laid Him.

⁴ And as they were much perplexed about it, it happened that, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

¹⁰ And while they were looking intently into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them,

¹ And on the same day Peter and John went up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

³ About the ninth hour of the day he saw plainly in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, Cornelius!

⁷ And when the angel who spoke to Cornelius departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from those who waited on him continually. ⁸ And explaining all things to them, he sent them to Joppa. ⁹ On the next day, as these went on the road, and drawing near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.

²³ Then he called them in and lodged them. And on the next day Peter went away with them, and certain brothers from Joppa went with him. ²⁴ And the next day they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
