³ LORD, what is man, that Thou takest knowledge of him? or the son of man, that Thou makest account of him?

¹⁷ What is man, that Thou shouldest magnify him, and that Thou shouldest set Thy heart upon him,

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

⁴ (8:5) What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou thinkest of him?

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his dust; in that very day his thoughts perish.

⁶ But one hath somewhere testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
