¹¹ My sonne, be wise, and reioyce mine heart, that I may answere him that reprocheth me.

⁴² So shall I make answere vnto my blasphemers: for I trust in thy woorde.

⁴ As are the arrowes in the hand of ye strong man: so are the children of youth. ⁵ Blessed is the man, that hath his quiuer full of them: for they shall not be ashamed, when they speake with their enemies in the gate.

¹ THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.

²⁰ A wise sonne reioyceth the father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

¹⁵ My sonne, if thine heart be wise, mine heart shall reioyce, and I also. ¹⁶ And my reynes shall reioyce, when thy lips speake righteous things.

²⁴ The father of the righteous shall greatly reioyce, and hee that begetteth a wise childe, shall haue ioy of him. ²⁵ Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall reioyce.

³ A man that loueth wisdome, reioyceth his father: but he that feedeth harlots, wasteth his substance.

¹⁸ I hated also all my labour, wherein I had trauailed vnder the sunne, which I shall leaue to the man that shalbe after me. ¹⁹ And who knoweth whether he shalbe wise or foolish? yet shall hee haue rule ouer all my labour, wherein I haue trauailed, and wherein I haue shewed my selfe wise vnder the sunne. This is also vanitie. ²⁰ Therefore I went about to make mine heart abhorre all the labour, wherein I had trauailed vnder the sunne. ²¹ For there is a man whose trauaile is in wisdome, and in knowledge and in equitie: yet to a man that hath not trauailed herein, shall he giue his portion: this also is vanitie and a great griefe.

⁷ For we haue great ioy and consolation in thy loue, because by thee, brother, the Saintes bowels are comforted.

¹⁹ I Paul haue written this with mine owne hande: I will recompense it, albeit I doe not say to thee, that thou owest moreouer vnto me euen thine owne selfe. ²⁰ Yea, brother, let mee obteine this pleasure of thee in the Lord: comfort my bowels in the Lord.

⁴ I reioyced greatly, that I founde of thy children walking in trueth, as we haue receiued a commandement of the Father.
