⁵² Then sayd hee vnto them, Therefore euery Scribe which is taught vnto the kingdome of heauen, is like vnto an householder, which bringeth foorth out of his treasure things both newe and olde.

⁶ This Ezra came vp from Babel, and was a Scribe prompt in the Lawe of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel had giuen, and the King gaue him all his request according to the hande of the Lord his God which was vpon him.

¹⁰ For Ezra had prepared his heart to seeke the Lawe of the Lord, and to doe it, and to teach the precepts and iudgements in Israel.

²¹ And I King Artahshashte haue giuen commandemet to all the treasurers which are beyond the Riuer, that whatsoeuer Ezra the Priest and Scribe of the Law of the God of heauen shall require of you, that it be done incontinently,

²⁰ The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth. ²¹ The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.

³⁰ The fruite of the righteous is as a tree of life, and he that winneth soules, is wise.

⁷ The lippes of the wise doe spread abroade knowledge: but ye heart of the foolish doth not so.

²⁰ He that is wise in his busines, shall finde good: and he that trusteth in the Lord, he is blessed. ²¹ The wise in heart shall bee called prudent: and the sweetenesse of the lippes shall increase doctrine. ²² Vnderstading is welspring of life vnto them that haue it: and the instruction of fooles is folly. ²³ The heart of the wise guideth his mouth wisely, and addeth doctrine to his lippes. ²⁴ Faire wordes are as an hony combe, sweetenesse to the soule, and health to the bones.

⁴ The words of a mans mouth are like deepe waters, and the welspring of wisdome is like a flowing riuer.

¹⁷ Incline thine eare, and heare the wordes of the wise, and apply thine heart vnto my knowledge. ¹⁸ For it shalbe pleasant, if thou keepe them in thy bellie, and if they be directed together in thy lippes.

⁹ And the more wise the Preacher was, the more he taught the people knowledge, and caused them to heare, and searched foorth, and prepared many parables. ¹⁰ The Preacher sought to finde out pleasant wordes, and an vpright writing, euen the wordes of trueth. ¹¹ The wordes of the wise are like goads, and like nailes fastened by the masters of the assemblies, which are giuen by one pastour.

¹³ The mandrakes haue giuen a smelll, and in our gates are all sweete things, new and olde: my welbeloued, I haue kept them for thee.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth foorth good things: and an euill man out of an euill treasure, bringeth forth euill things.

³⁴ Wherefore beholde, I send vnto you Prophets, and wise men, and Scribes, and of them ye shall kill and crucifie: and of them shall ye scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from citie to citie,

⁴⁹ Therefore said the wisedome of God, I wil sende them Prophets and Apostles, and of them they shall slaie, and persecute away,

³⁴ A newe commandement giue I vnto you, that ye loue one another: as I haue loued you, that ye also loue one another.

⁴ And such trust haue we through Christ to God: ⁵ Not that we are sufficient of our selues, to thinke any thing, as of our selues: but our sufficiencie is of God, ⁶ Who also hath made vs able ministers of the Newe testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirite: for the letter killeth, but the Spirite giueth life.

⁵ For we preach not our selues, but Christ Iesus the Lord, and our selues your seruaunts for Iesus sake. ⁶ For God that commanded the light to shine out of darknesse, is he which hath shined in our hearts, to giue the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Iesus Christ. ⁷ But we haue this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellencie of that power might be of God, and not of vs.

¹⁰ As sorowing, and yet alway reioycing: as poore, and yet make many riche: as hauing nothing, and yet possessing all things.

⁴ Whereby when ye reade, ye may knowe mine vnderstanding in the mysterie of Christ)

⁸ Euen vnto me the least of all Saints is this grace giuen, that I should preach among the Gentiles the vnsearchable riches of Christ,

⁷ As yee also learned of Epaphras our deare fellowe seruaunt, which is for you a faithfull minister of Christ:

¹⁶ Let the worde of Christ dwell in you plenteously in all wisdome, teaching and admonishing your owne selues, in Psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing with a grace in your hearts to the Lord.

⁶ He may not be a yong scholer, lest he being puffed vp fall into the condemnation of the deuill.

¹⁵ But if I tary long, that thou maist yet know, how thou oughtest to behaue thy self in ye house of God, which is the Church of the liuing God, the pillar and ground of trueth. ¹⁶ And without controuersie, great is the mysterie of godlinesse, which is, God is manifested in the flesh, iustified in the Spirit, seene of Angels, preached vnto the Gentiles, beleeued on in the world, and receiued vp in glorie.

¹⁶ For the whole Scripture is giuen by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teache, to conuince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousnesse, ¹⁷ That the man of God may be absolute, being made perfect vnto all good workes.

⁹ Holding fast that faithfull worde according to doctrine, that he also may bee able to exhort with wholesome doctrine, and conuince them that say against it.

⁶ Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded. ⁷ In all things shewe thy selfe an ensample of good woorkes with vncorrupt doctrine, with grauitie, integritie,

⁷ Brethren, I write no newe commandement vnto you: but an olde commandement, which ye haue had from the beginning: this olde commandement is that worde, which yee haue heard from the beginning. ⁸ Againe, a new comandement I write vnto you, that which is true in him, and also in you: for the darkenes is past, and that true light now shineth.
