⁴⁸ He is like a man which built an house, and digged deepe, and layde the fundation on a rocke: and when the waters arose, the flood beat vpon that house, and coulde not shake it: for it was grounded vpon a rocke.

¹⁵ But he that should haue bene vpright, when he waxed fat, spurned with his heele: thou art fat, thou art grosse, thou art laden with fatnes: therefore he forsooke God that made him, and regarded not the strong God of his saluation.

¹⁸ Thou hast forgotten the mightie God that begate thee, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

³¹ For their god is not as our God, euen our enemies being iudges.

² There is none holy as the Lord: yea, there is none besides thee, and there is no god like our God.

² And he sayd, The Lord is my rocke and my fortresse, and he that deliuereth mee.

⁵ For the pangs of death haue compassed me: the floods of vngodlinesse haue made mee afrayd.

³² For who is God besides the Lord? and who is mightie, saue our God?

⁴⁷ Let the Lord liue, and blessed be my strength: and God, euen the force of my saluation be exalted.

³ The God of Israel spake to me, ye strength of Israel saide, Thou shalt beare rule ouer men, being iust, and ruling in the feare of God.

⁶ Therefore shall euery one, that is godly, make his prayer vnto thee in a time, when thou mayest be founde: surely in the flood of great waters they shall not come neere him.

God is our hope and strength, and helpe in troubles, ready to be found. ² Therefore will not we feare, though the earth be moued, and though the mountaines fall into the middes of the sea. ³ Though the waters thereof rage and be troubled, and the mountaines shake at the surges of the same. ² Yet he is my strength and my saluation, and my defence: therefore I shall not much be mooued.

³ The floodes haue lifted vp, O Lord: the floodes haue lifted vp their voyce: the floods lift vp their waues. ⁴ The waues of ye sea are marueilous through the noyse of many waters, yet the Lord on High is more mightie.

¹ Come, let vs reioyce vnto the Lord: let vs sing aloude vnto the rocke of our saluation.

¹ A song of degrees. They that trust in the Lord, shalbe as mount Zion, which can not be remooued, but remaineth for euer. ² As the mountaines are about Ierusalem: so is the Lord about his people from henceforth and for euer.

²⁵ As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.

⁴ Trust in the Lord for euer: for in the Lord God is strength for euermore.

¹⁶ Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will laye in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. Hee that beleeueth, shall not make haste.

¹⁹ So shall they feare the Name of the Lord from the West, and his glory from the rising of the sunne: for the enemie shall come like a flood: but the Spirit of the Lord shall chase him away.

⁸ But passing ouer as with a flood, he will vtterly destroy the place thereof, and darknesse shall pursue his enemies.

²⁵ And the raine fell, and the floods came, and the windes blewe, and beat vpon that house, and it fell not: for it was grounded on a rocke. ²⁶ But whosoeuer heareth these my wordes, and doeth them not, shall be likened vnto a foolish man, which hath builded his house vpon the sand:

³³ These thinges haue I spoken vnto you, that in me ye might haue peace: in the world ye shall haue affliction, but be of good comfort: I haue ouercome the world.

²² Confirming the disciples hearts, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, affirming that we must through many afflictions enter into the kingdome of God.

³⁵ Who shall separate vs from the loue of Christ? shall tribulation or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakednesse, or perill, or sworde? ³⁶ As it is written, For thy sake are we killed all day long: we are counted as sheepe for the slaughter. ³⁷ Neuerthelesse, in all these thinges we are more then coquerours through him that loued vs. ³⁸ For I am perswaded that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

¹⁰ According to the grace of God giuen to mee, as a skilfull master builder, I haue laide the foundation, and another buildeth thereon: but let euery man take heede how he buildeth vpon it. ¹¹ For other foundation can no man laie, then that which is laied, which is Iesus Christ. ¹² And if any man builde on this foundation, golde, siluer, precious stones, timber, haye, or stubble, ¹³ Euery mans worke shalbe made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shalbe reueiled by the fire: and the fire shall trie euery mans worke of what sort it is. ¹⁴ If any mans worke, that he hath built vpon, abide, he shall receiue wages. ¹⁵ If any mans worke burne, he shall lose, but he shalbe saued himselfe: neuerthelesse yet as it were by the fire.

⁵⁵ O death where is thy sting? O graue where is thy victorie? ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sinne: and ye strength of sinne is the Lawe. ⁵⁷ But thankes be vnto God, which hath giuen vs victorie through our Lord Iesus Christ. ⁵⁸ Therefore my beloued brethren, be ye stedfast, vnmoueable, aboundant alwayes in the worke of the Lord, forasmuch as ye knowe that your labour is not in vaine in the Lord.

²⁰ And are built vpon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Iesus Christ himselfe being the chiefe corner stone,

¹⁹ But the foundation of God remaineth sure, and hath this seale, The Lord knoweth who are his: and, Let euery one that calleth on the Name of Christ, depart from iniquitie.

⁴ To whome comming as vnto a liuing stone disallowed of men, but chosen of God and precious, ⁵ Yee also as liuely stones, bee made a spirituall house, an holy Priesthoode to offer vp spirituall sacrifices acceptable to God by Iesus Christ. ⁶ Wherefore also it is conteyned in the Scripture, Beholde, I put in Sion a chiefe corner stone, elect and precious: and hee that beleeueth therein, shall not be ashamed.

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thiefe in the night, in the which the heauens shall passe away with a noyse, and the elements shall melt with heate, and the earth with the workes that are therein, shalbe burnt vp. ¹¹ Seeing therefore that all these thinges must be dissolued, what maner persons ought ye to be in holy conuersation and godlinesse, ¹² Looking for, and hasting vnto the comming of that day of God, by the which the heauens being on fire, shall be dissolued, and the elements shall melt with heate? ¹³ But wee looke for newe heauens, and a newe earth, according to his promise, wherein dwelleth righteousnesse. ¹⁴ Wherefore, beloued, seeing that yee looke for such thinges, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blamelesse.

²⁸ And nowe, litle children, abide in him, that when he shall appeare, we may be bolde, and not be ashamed before him at his comming.

²⁴ Nowe vnto him that is able to keepe you, that ye fall not, and to present you faultlesse before the presence of his glorie with ioy,

¹⁴ And heauen departed away, as a scroule, when it is rolled, and euery mountaine and yle were mooued out of their places. ¹⁵ And the Kinges of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chiefe captaines, and the mighty men, and euery bondman, and euery free man, hid themselues in dennes, and among the rockes of the mountaines, ¹⁶ And said to the mountaines and rocks, Fal on vs, and hide vs from the presence of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lambe. ¹⁷ For the great day of his wrath is come, and who can stand?

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and one that sate on it, from whose face fled away both the earth and heauen, and their place was no more found. ¹² And I saw the dead, both great and small stand before God: and the bookes were opened, and another booke was opened, which is the booke of life, and the dead were iudged of those thinges, which were written in the bookes, according to their woorkes. ¹³ And the sea gaue vp her dead, which were in her, and death and hell deliuered vp the dead, which were in them: and they were iudged euery man according to their woorkes. ¹⁴ And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire: this is the second death. ¹⁵ And whosoeuer was not found written in the booke of life, was cast into the lake of fire.
