⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth foorth good, and an euill man out of the euill treasure of his heart bringeth foorth euill: for of the aboundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

² They speake deceitfully euery one with his neighbour, flattering with their lips, and speake with a double heart. ³ The Lord cut off all flattering lippes, and the tongue that speaketh proude things: ⁴ Which haue saide, With our tongue will we preuaile: our lippes are our owne: who is Lord ouer vs?

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous will speake of wisedome, and his tongue will talke of iudgement. ³¹ For the Lawe of his God is in his heart, and his steppes shall not slide.

⁸ I desired to doe thy good will, O my God: yea, thy Lawe is within mine heart. ⁹ I haue declared thy righteousnesse in the great Congregation: loe, I will not refraine my lippes: O Lord, thou knowest. ¹⁰ I haue not hidde thy righteousnesse within mine heart, but I haue declared thy trueth and thy saluation: I haue not conceiled thy mercy and thy trueth from the great Congregation.

⁶ And if hee come to see mee, hee speaketh lies, but his heart heapeth iniquitie within him, and when he commeth foorth, he telleth it. ⁷ All they that hate me, whisper together against me: euen against me do they imagine mine hurt.

² Thy tongue imagineth mischiefe, and is like a sharpe rasor, that cutteth deceitfully. ³ Thou doest loue euill more then good, and lies more then to speake the trueth. Selah. ⁴ Thou louest all wordes that may destroye, O deceitfull tongue!

⁷ Behold, they brag in their talke, and swords are in their lips: for, Who, say they, doeth heare?

¹² For the sinne of their mouth, and the words of their lips: and let them be taken in their pride, euen for their periurie and lies, that they speake.

³ Which haue whette their tongue like a sword, and shot for their arrowes bitter wordes. ⁴ To shoote at the vpright in secrete: they shoote at him suddenly, and feare not. ⁵ They encourage themselues in a wicked purpose: they commune together to lay snares priuilie, and say, Who shall see them? ⁶ They haue sought out iniquities, and haue accomplished that which they sought out, euen euery one his secret thoughtes, and the depth of his heart. ⁷ But God will shoote an arrowe at them suddenly: their strokes shalbe at once. ⁸ They shall cause their owne tongue to fall vpon them: and whosoeuer shall see them, shall flee away.

¹⁵ My mouth shall daily rehearse thy righteousnesse, and thy saluation: for I knowe not the nomber. ¹⁶ I will goe forwarde in the strength of the Lord God, and will make mention of thy righteousnesse, euen of thine onely. ¹⁷ O God, thou hast taught me from my youth euen vntill nowe: therefore will I tell of thy wonderous workes, ¹⁸ Yea, euen vnto mine olde age and graie head, O God: forsake me not, vntill I haue declared thine arme vnto this generation, and thy power to all them, that shall come.

⁵ The proude haue layde a snare for me, and spred a nette with cordes in my pathway, and set grennes for me. Selah.

²³ Keepe thine heart with all diligence: for thereout commeth life.

²⁰ The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth. ²¹ The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.

¹⁸ There is that speaketh wordes like the prickings of a sworde: but the tongue of wise men is health.

²³ A ioy commeth to a man by the answere of his mouth: and how good is a word in due season?

¹⁷ Incline thine eare, and heare the wordes of the wise, and apply thine heart vnto my knowledge. ¹⁸ For it shalbe pleasant, if thou keepe them in thy bellie, and if they be directed together in thy lippes.

² Oh, that I had in the wildernes a cottage of wayfaring men, that I might leaue my people, and go from them: for they be all adulterers and an assembly of rebels, ³ And they bende their tongues like their bowes for lyes: but they haue no courage for the trueth vpon the earth: for they proceede from euill to worse, and they haue not knowen mee, sayth the Lord. ⁴ Let euery one take heede of his neighbour, and trust you not in any brother: for euery brother will vse deceite, and euery friend will deale deceitfully, ⁵ And euery one wil deceiue his friende, and wil not speake the trueth: for they haue taught their tongues to speake lies, and take great paynes to do wickedly.

³⁴ O generations of vipers, howe can you speake good things, when ye are euill? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth foorth good things: and an euill man out of an euill treasure, bringeth forth euill things. ³⁶ But I say vnto you, that of euery idle word that men shall speake, they shall giue account thereof at the day of iudgement. ³⁷ For by thy wordes thou shalt be iustified, and by thy wordes thou shalt be condemned.

³⁸ Hee that beleeueth in mee, as saith the Scripture, out of his bellie shall flowe riuers of water of life.

³ Then saide Peter, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart, that thou shouldest lye vnto the holy Ghost, and keepe away part of the price of this possession?

¹⁹ Saying, Giue mee also this power, that on whomsoeuer I lay the handes, he may receiue the holy Ghost. ²⁰ Then saide Peter vnto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou thinkest that the gift of God may be obteined with money. ²¹ Thou hast neither part nor fellowship in this businesse: for thine heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Repent therefore of this thy wickednes, and pray God, that if it be possible, the thought of thine heart may be forgiuen thee. ²³ For I see that thou art in the gall of bitternes, and in the bonde of iniquitie.

¹³ Their throte is an open sepulchre: they haue vsed their tongues to deceit: the poyson of aspes is vnder their lippes. ¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitternesse.

⁶ For God that commanded the light to shine out of darknesse, is he which hath shined in our hearts, to giue the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Iesus Christ. ⁷ But we haue this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellencie of that power might be of God, and not of vs.

⁸ Euen vnto me the least of all Saints is this grace giuen, that I should preach among the Gentiles the vnsearchable riches of Christ,

²⁹ Let no corrupt comunication proceed out of your mouths: but that which is good, to ye vse of edifying, that it may minister grace vnto the hearers.

³ But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes, ⁴ Neither filthinesse, neither foolish talking, neither iesting, which are things not comely, but rather giuing of thankes.

¹⁹ Speaking vnto your selues in psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing, and making melodie to the Lord in your hearts,

¹⁶ Let the worde of Christ dwell in you plenteously in all wisdome, teaching and admonishing your owne selues, in Psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing with a grace in your hearts to the Lord.

⁶ Let your speach be gracious alwayes, and powdred with salt, that ye may know how to answere euery man.

¹⁰ For this is the Testament that I will make with the house of Israel, After those dayes, saith the Lord, I will put my Lawes in their minde, and in their heart I will write them, and I wil be their God, and they shalbe my people,

⁵ Euen so the tongue is a litle member, and boasteth of great things: beholde, howe great a thing a litle fire kindleth. ⁶ And the tongue is fire, yea, a worlde of wickednesse: so is the tongue set among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire of hell. ⁷ For the whole nature of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and things of the sea is tamed, and hath bene tamed of the nature of man. ⁸ But the tongue can no man tame. It is an vnruly euill, full of deadly poyson.

¹⁵ To giue iudgement against al men, and to rebuke all the vngodly among them of all their wicked deeds, which they haue vngodly committed, and of all their cruel speakings, which wicked sinners haue spoken against him.
