¹² He scattereth the deuices of the craftie: so that their handes can not accomplish that which they doe enterprise.

¹⁵ And when our enemies heard that it was knowen vnto vs, then God brought their counsell to nought, and we turned all againe to the wall, euery one vnto his worke.

¹⁶ With him is strength and wisedome: hee that is deceiued, and that deceiueth, are his. ¹⁷ He causeth the counsellers to goe as spoyled, and maketh the iudges fooles.

¹¹ For they intended euill against thee, and imagined mischiefe, but they shall not preuaile.

¹⁰ The Lord breaketh the counsell of the heathen, and bringeth to nought the deuices of the people. ¹¹ The counsell of the Lord shall stand for euer, and the thoughts of his heart throughout all ages.

¹⁷ For the armes of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord vpholdeth the iust men.

³⁰ There is no wisedome, neither vnderstanding, nor counsell against the Lord.

¹⁰ Take counsell together, yet it shall be brought to nought: pronounce a decree, yet shall it not stand: for God is with vs.

³ And the spirite of Egypt shall faile in the middes of her, and I will destroy their counsell, and they shall seeke at the idoles, and at the sorcerers, and at them that haue spirits of diuination, and at the southsayers.

³⁶ Then the Angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the campe of Asshur an hundreth, fourescore, and fiue thousand: so when they arose early in the morning, beholde, they were all dead corpses.

¹¹ And when Peter was come to himselfe, he said, Nowe I know for a trueth, that the Lord hath sent his Angel, and hath deliuered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the wayting for of the people of the Iewes.

¹² And when the day was come, certaine of the Iewes made an assemblie, and bounde themselues with a curse, saying, that they woulde neither eate nor drinke, till they had killed Paul. ¹³ And they were more then fourtie, which had made this conspiracie. ¹⁴ And they came to the chiefe Priestes and Elders, and said, We haue bound our selues with a solemne curse, that wee will eate nothing, vntill we haue slaine Paul. ¹⁵ Nowe therefore, ye and the Council signifie to the chiefe captaine, that hee bring him foorth vnto you to morow: as though you would know some thing more perfectly of him, and we, or euer he come neere, will be readie to kill him. ¹⁶ But when Pauls sisters sonne heard of their laying awaite, he went, and entred into the castel, and tolde Paul. ¹⁷ And Paul called one of the Centurions vnto him, and said, Take this yong man hence vnto the chiefe captaine: for he hath a certaine thing to shewe him. ¹⁸ So hee tooke him, and brought him to the chiefe captaine, and saide, Paul the prisoner called mee vnto him, and prayed mee to bring this yong man vnto thee, which hath some thing to say vnto thee. ¹⁹ Then the chiefe captaine tooke him by the hande, and went apart with him alone, and asked him, What hast thou to shewe me? ²⁰ And he saide, The Iewes haue conspired to desire thee, that thou wouldest bring foorth Paul to morow into the Council, as though they would inquire somewhat of him more perfectly: ²¹ But let them not perswade thee: for there lie in waite for him of them, more then fourtie men, which haue bound themselues with a curse, that they will neither eate nor drinke, till they haue killed him: and nowe are they readie, and waite for thy promise. ²² The chiefe captaine then let the yong man depart, after hee had charged him to vtter it to no man, that he had shewed him these things.
