⁶ Know nowe, that God hath ouerthrowen me, and hath compassed me with his net.

²⁰ I haue sinned, what shall I do vnto thee? O thou preseruer of me, why hast thou set me as a marke against thee, so that I am a burden vnto my selfe?

¹¹ God hath deliuered me to the vniust, and hath made mee to turne out of the way by the hands of the wicked. ¹² I was in welth, but he hath brought me to nought: he hath taken me by the necke, and beaten me, and set me as a marke for himselfe. ¹³ His archers compasse mee rounde about: he cutteth my reines, and doth not spare, and powreth my gall vpon the ground. ¹⁴ He hath broken me with one breaking vpon another, and runneth vpon me like a gyant.

⁸ For hee is taken in the net by his feete, and he walketh vpon the snares. ⁹ The grenne shall take him by the heele, and the theefe shall come vpon him. ¹⁰ A snare is layed for him in the ground, and a trappe for him in the way.

² The liuing God hath taken away my iudgement: for the Almightie hath put my soule in bitternesse.

⁹ But now thou art farre off, and puttest vs to confusion, and goest not forth with our armies. ¹⁰ Thou makest vs to turne backe from the aduersary, and they, which hate vs, spoile for theselues. ¹¹ Thou giuest vs as sheepe to bee eaten, and doest scatter vs among the nations. ¹² Thou sellest thy people without gaine, and doest not increase their price. ¹³ Thou makest vs a reproche to our neighbours, a iest and a laughing stocke to them that are round about vs. ¹⁴ Thou makest vs a prouerbe among the nations, and a nodding of the head among the people.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proued vs, thou hast tryed vs as siluer is tryed. ¹¹ Thou hast brought vs into the snare, and layed a strait chaine vpon our loynes. ¹² Thou hast caused men to ryde ouer our heads: we went into fire and into water, but thou broughtest vs out into a welthie place.

¹² Haue ye no regarde, all yee that passe by this way? behold, and see, if there be any sorowe like vnto my sorowe, which is done vnto mee, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce wrath. ¹³ From aboue hath hee sent fire into my bones, which preuaile against them: he hath spred a net for my feete, and turned me backe: hee hath made me desolate, and daily in heauinesse.

¹³ My net also will I spread vpon him, and he shall be taken in my net, and I will bring him to Babel to the lande of the Caldeans, yet shall he not see it, though he shall dye there.

³ Thus sayth the Lord God, I will therefore spread my net ouer thee with a great multitude of people, and they shall make thee come vp into my net.

¹² But when they shall go, I will spred my net vpon them, and drawe them downe as the foules of the heauen: I will chastice them as their congregation hath heard.
