³ Israel was as a thing halowed vnto the Lord, and his first fruits: all they that eat it, shall offend: euil shall come vpon them, saith the Lord.

²² Then thou shalt say to Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my sonne, euen my first borne. ²³ Wherefore I say to thee, Let my sonne go, that he may serue me: if thou refuse to let him goe, beholde, I will slay thy sonne, euen thy first borne.

⁵ Now therefore if ye wil heare my voyce in deede, and keepe my couenant, then ye shalbe my chiefe treasure aboue all people, though all the earth be mine. ⁶ Yee shall be vnto mee also a kingdome of Priestes, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speake vnto the children of Israel.

²⁹ Thine abundance and thy licour shalt thou not keepe backe. The first borne of thy sonnes shalt thou giue me.

¹⁶ The feast also of the haruest of the first fruites of thy labours, which thou hast sowen in the fielde: and the feast of gathering fruites in the ende of the yere, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the fielde.

¹² All the fat of the oyle, and all the fat of the wine, and of the wheate, which they shall offer vnto the Lord for their first fruites, I haue giuen them vnto thee.

⁶ For thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God, the Lord thy God hath chosen thee, to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all people that are vpon the earth.

² For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.

¹⁹ And to make thee high aboue al nations (which he hath made) in praise, and in name, and in glory, and that thou shouldest be an holy people vnto the Lord thy God, as he hath said.

¹⁴ I would soone haue humbled their enemies, and turned mine hand against their aduersaries. ¹⁵ The haters of the Lord should haue bene subiect vnto him, and their time should haue endured for euer.

¹⁴ Yet suffered he no man to doe them wrong, but reprooued Kings for their sakes, saying, ¹⁵ Touche not mine anointed, and doe my Prophets no harme.

²⁵ He turned their heart to hate his people, and to deale craftily with his seruants. ²⁶ Then sent he Moses his seruant, and Aaron whom he had chosen. ²⁷ They shewed among them the message of his signes, and wonders in the land of Ham. ²⁸ He sent darkenesse, and made it darke: and they were not disobedient vnto his commission. ²⁹ He turned their waters into blood, and slewe their fish. ³⁰ Their land brought foorth frogs, euen in their Kings chambers. ³¹ He spake, and there came swarmes of flies and lice in all their quarters. ³² He gaue them haile for raine, and flames of fire in their land. ³³ He smote their vines also and their figge trees, and brake downe the trees in their coastes. ³⁴ He spake, and the grashoppers came, and caterpillers innumerable, ³⁵ And did eate vp all the grasse in their land, and deuoured the fruite of their ground. ³⁶ He smote also all the first borne in their land, euen the beginning of all their strength.

¹¹ Beholde, all they that prouoke thee, shalbe ashamed, and confounded: they shalbe as nothing, and they that striue with thee, shall perish.

⁶ I was wroth with my people: I haue polluted mine inheritance, and giuen them into thine had: thou diddest shew them no mercy, but thou didest lay thy very heauy yoke vpon the ancient.

¹⁴ Thus sayeth the Lord against all mine euill neighbours, that touch the inheritance, which I haue caused my people Israel to inherite, Beholde, I will plucke them out of their lande, and plucke out the house of Iudah from among them.

¹⁶ Therefore all they that deuoure thee, shall be deuoured, and all thine enemies euery one shall goe into captiuitie: and they that spoyle thee, shalbe spoyled, and all they that robbe thee, wil I giue to be robbed.

⁷ Al that found them, haue deuoured them, and their enemies saide, We offende not, because they haue sinned against the Lord, the habitation of iustice, euen the Lord the hope of their fathers.

³ Tell you your children of it, and let your children shew to their children, and their children to another generation.

⁷ He maketh my vine waste, and pilleth off the barke of my figge tree: he maketh it bare, and casteth it downe: ye branches therof are made white. ⁸ Mourne like a virgine girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.

¹ Woe to them that are at ease in Zion and trust in the moutaine of Samaria, which were famous at the beginning of the nations: and the house of Israel came to them.

¹⁵ And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.

⁸ For thus saith the Lord of hostes, After this glory hath hee sent me vnto the nations, which spoyled you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.

² Beholde, I will make Ierusalem a cuppe of poyson vnto all the people round about: and also with Iudah will he be, in ye siege against Ierusalem. ³ And in that day will I make Ierusalem an heauie stone for all people: all that lift it vp, shall be torne, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. ⁴ In that day, sayeth the Lord, I will smite euery horse with astonishment, and his rider with madnesse, and I will open mine eyes vpon the house of Iudah, and will smite euery horse of the people with blindnesse.

²⁰ In that day shall there be written vpon the bridles of the horses, The holinesse vnto the Lord, and the pottes in the Lords house shall be like the bowles before the altar. ²¹ Yea, euery potte in Ierusalem and Iudah shall be holy vnto the Lord of hostes, and all they that sacrifice, shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the House of the Lord of hostes.

⁴ And hee fell to the earth, and heard a voyce, saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ And he sayd, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord sayd, I am Iesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kicke against pricks.

¹⁶ For if the first fruites be holy, so is the whole lumpe: and if the roote be holy, so are the branches.

⁵ Likewise greete the Church that is in their house. Salute my beloued Epenetus, which is the first fruites of Achaia in Christ.

⁴ As hee hath chosen vs in him, before the foundation of the worlde, that we should be holy, and without blame before him in loue:

¹⁸ Of his owne will begate hee vs with the woorde of trueth, that we shoulde be as the first fruites of his creatures.

⁹ But yee are a chosen generation, a royall Priesthoode, an holy nation, a people set at libertie, that yee shoulde shewe foorth the vertues of him that hath called you out of darkenesse into his marueilous light,

⁴ These are they, which are not defiled with women: for they are virgins: these follow the Lambe whithersoeuer he goeth: these are bought from men, being the first fruites vnto God, and to the Lambe.
